  • Patent number: 11370549
Abstract: An aircraft passenger seating unit and aircraft seating arrangements including seating units, each seating unit configured as a window-facing seating unit or as an aisle-facing seating unit. Each individual seating unit including first and second laterally adjacent seats mounted on a common platform and oriented at an angle to a longitudinal aircraft axis. A forwardmost point of each of the first and second seats, when in an upright sitting position, resides along a plane common to both the first and second passenger seats perpendicular to the longitudinal aircraft axis to allow longitudinal alignment of rows and increased seating density.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 6, 2018
Date of Patent: June 28, 2022
    Assignee: B/E Aerospace, Inc.
Inventors: Alexander N. Pozzi, Tom Plant, Michael J. Schmid, Daniel Udriste, Ryan Suhre
  • Patent number: 11066170
Abstract: A layout of passenger seats in an aircraft cabin including a first passenger seat positioned in a forward-facing direction and parallel to an aircraft longitudinal axis, and a second passenger seat positioned to one side of the first passenger seat, in a forward-facing direction, and at an angle with respect to the aircraft longitudinal axis, wherein the second passenger seat is angled toward the first passenger seat.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 11066174
Abstract: An aircraft seating unit includes a base, a seat coupled to the base, a housing coupled to the base and enclosing frame elements of at least one of the base or the seat, and an ottoman. The housing defines a recess at a location below and to a rear of the seat. The ottoman is disposed within the recess. The ottoman includes a guide coupled to at least one of the frame elements, a slide translatable along the guide, a foot platform coupled to the slide, and an actuator positioned to facilitate selectively translating the slide along the guide to reposition the foot platform between a stowed position and a deployed position. The guide defines a translation axis that is angled relative to a vertical axis such that the foot platform moves both vertically and horizontally as the slide translates along the guide.

  • Patent number: 10604261
Abstract: An ottoman for an aircraft seat includes a guide assembly, a foot platform, and an actuator assembly. The guide assembly is configured to couple to a frame of the aircraft seat. The guide assembly includes a guide and a slide that is translatable along the guide. The foot platform is coupled to the slide. The actuator assembly is configured to selectively translate the slide along the guide to reposition the foot platform between a stowed position and a deployed position. The actuator assembly includes an actuator and an arm. The arm defines a first interface coupled to the slide and a second interface coupled to the actuator. Engagement of the actuator causes the arm to pivot and move the slide along the guide.
