  • Patent number: 11935735
Abstract: A circuit and method for providing high-voltage radio-frequency (RF) energy to an instrument at multiple frequencies includes a plurality of inputs each configured to receive an RF voltage signal oscillating at a corresponding frequency, and a step-up circuit for generating magnified RF voltage signals based on the received RF voltage signals. The step-up circuit includes an LC network operable to isolate the RF voltage signals at the plurality inputs from one another while preserving a voltage magnification from each input to a common output at each of the corresponding frequencies.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 18, 2022
Date of Patent: March 19, 2024
    Assignee: AGILENT TECHNOLOGIES, INC.

  • Publication number: 20200136555
Abstract: In one embodiment, a system includes a mass analyzer, an ion source for providing ions to the mass analyzer, a detector for detecting an output of the mass analyzer, and a frequency-selectable power source. The frequency-selectable power source may include an energy supply configured to provide high-voltage radio-frequency (RF) energy to the mass analyzer at individually selectable first and second frequencies, and a frequency selector for switching between the individually selectable first and second frequencies.

  • Patent number: 8456267
Abstract: A composite transmission line transformer includes at least one core, a first port, a second port, and one or more pairs of transmission lines wound about the core(s). Each transmission line is in signal communication with the first port and the second port. For each pair, the transmission lines are interconnected in series at the first port and at the second port such that the first port and the second port are DC-isolated from each other.

  • Publication number: 20110012691
Abstract: A single-core transmission line transformer includes first, second and third transmission lines, and first and second ports. The first and second transmission lines are wound around a common core. The first port interconnects respective first ends of the first and second transmission lines in parallel. The second port communicates with respective second ends of the first and second transmission lines. The third transmission line communicates with the first and second transmission lines without being wound around any solid core. The impedance transformation ratio of the transformer is 1:9 in a direction from the first port to the second port.
