  • Publication number: 20240398925
Abstract: The invention is related to multivalent immunogenic compositions comprising more than one S. pneumoniae polysaccharide protein conjugates, wherein each of the conjugates comprises a polysaccharide from an S. pneumoniae serotype conjugated to a carrier protein, wherein the serotypes of S. pneumoniae are as defined herein. Also provided are methods for inducing a protective immune response in a human patient comprising administering the multivalent immunogenic compositions of the invention to the patient. The multivalent immunogenic compositions are useful for providing protection against S. pneumoniae infection and diseases caused by S. pneumoniae. The compositions of the invention are also useful as part of treatment regimes that provide complementary protection for patients that have been vaccinated with a multivalent vaccine indicated for the prevention of pneumococcal disease.

  • Patent number: 12084349
Abstract: Graphenic carbon nanoparticles that are dispersed in solvents through the use of dispersant resins are disclosed. The graphenic carbon nanoparticles may be milled prior to dispersion. The dispersant resins may comprise a polymeric dispersant resin comprising an addition polymer comprising the residue of a vinyl heterocyclic amide, an addition polymer comprising a homopolymer, a block (co)polymer, a random (co)polymer, an alternating (co)polymer, a graft (co)polymer, a brush (co)polymer, a star (co)polymer, a telechelic (co)polymer, or a combination thereof. The solvents may be aqueous, non-aqueous, inorganic and/or organic solvents. The dispersions are highly stable and may contain relatively high loadings of the graphenic carbon nanoparticles.

  • Publication number: 20020020164
Abstract: A metal article of manufacture including a tubular body portion and free-formed metal features on the tubular body portion. The free-formed metal features are formed of a layerwise deposition of a molten metal material in a predefined pattern to form the desired free-formed feature or construction.

  • Patent number: 4663965
Abstract: It is proposed to store spent nuclear fuel elements in welded-shut steel containers, which are filled with argon at about 2 atmospheres pressure. It is desirable to be able periodically to check the containers for leaks. The invention proposes to do this by providing apparatus for sensing the pressure within the container from outside the container. To achieve this, a pressure responsive bellows is mounted inside the container, such that changes in the container pressure move a metal plate attached to the bellows towards or away from a portion of the inside wall of the container. Then, if the container starts to develop a leak, the pressure will begin to drop, and the gap between the metal plate and the wall will change. This gap can be sensed from outside the container, by an ultrasonic pulse echo technique. Preferably, the bellows and plate are mounted within the head of the combined valve and lifting pintle by which the container is sealed.

  • Patent number: 4632489
Abstract: A cable connector hood includes a housing formed of two mating portions and including at least one gripper element pivotably receivable within that housing and pivotally mounted for movement into gripping engagement with a cable connected to a cable connector received within the hood. Detent structure provides for resilient engagement between the gripper and the housing to maintain the gripper in engagement with the cable.

  • Patent number: 4428061
Abstract: A receiver, for receiving a signal comprising a carrier signal modulated with a digital signal, comprises a circuit for demodulating the received signal to produce an output signal which contains the digital signal. Because of repeated filtering, the digital signal is typically in the form of an approximately sinusoidal signal, which has a component whose frequency is equal to half the basic bit rate of the digital signal: because of noise, this component is subject to considerable timing jitter. To overcome this, the output signal is digitized and applied to a digital correlator, where it is correlated with a reference signal whose frequency is also equal to half the basic bit rate of the digital signal. The reference signal is preferably derived from a phase-locked loop locked to the carrier frequency.
