  • Patent number: 5069633
Abstract: A protective shield is provided for preventing moisture from reaching electrical connections of a lamp inserted in a lampholder. The shield includes a waterproof cover part which fits tightly around the end of the lamp envelope and extends beyond the end of the lamp and a waterproof barrier part which prevents moisture from flowing into a junction between the lamp end and a lampholder in which the lamp is inserted. Preferably the cover part and the barrier part are integrally formed from a resilient material, and the barrier part surrounds the end of the lampholder.

  • Patent number: 5000480
Abstract: A show bar assembly for attachment to side panels of a pick-up truck or like vehicles capable of being adjusted and mounted on such vehicles of a plurality of different sizes and configurations and support a variety of automotive light accessories and the like at different locations as chosen by the owner. The show bar assembly comprises an upright front bar formed of three tubular members collectively forming an inverted U-shaped first bar unit to extend above the side panels of the truck and a second bar unit also collectively forming an inverted U-shaped angled bracing bar unit with the top section thereof immediately adjacent and paralleling the top section of the first bar unit. Each of these side tube sections of the first and second bar units have a mounting plate at the respective lower ends thereof for fixing the lower end portions thereof to truck side panels in deliberate mechanical tensioned relation minimizing vibration and looseness between component parts.

  • Patent number: 4943085
Abstract: A side bar assembly for attachment to a chassis of a pick-up truck, off-road vehicle or the like capable of being mounted on such vehicles of a plurality of different sizes and configurations, wherein the side bar assembly is formed of a pair of substantially L-shaped tubular members as half-bar tube sections to collectively form a generally U-shaped side bar to extend laterally from a side of the vehicle. A substantially semi-cylindrical connector sleeve defining a concave tube-gripping recess receives the aligned end portions of the tubular members with the connector sleeve partially encircling and gripping the adjacent portions of the tubular members over more than half the circumferential extent of each, and mounting brackets are provided for bolt securement to the vehicle chassis to receive and support end portions of the side legs therein.
