  • Patent number: 4615251
Abstract: A follower guide for a sabre saw blade stabilizes the unsupported end portion of the blade during cutting operations, assuring a clean precision cut through the workpiece. Twisting, bending and other misalignment of the saw blade is eliminated. The follower guide is spring-urged into engagement with the saw blade and is constructed to coact with all standard sabre saw blades without requiring any modification thereof. The follower guide can be installed readily on various types of saw tables or platforms.

  • Patent number: 4608898
Abstract: A unitized saw guide and protractor assembly includes workpiece locator tabs whereby the assembly and workpiece can be hand-held safely for making a precision workpiece cut at a required angle by means of a saber saw. The same saw guide and protractor assembly is employed with a platform on which the assembly rests with its workpiece locator tabs engaged within slots of the platform which lock the assembly and platform together in a precision use mode to create a miter box, said tabs again contacting and positioning a hand-held workpiece for cutting. The saw guide and protractor assembly is used in a third mode with a vise equipped framing base as a miter machine where again the locator tabs engage a face of the workpiece to position the saw guide and protractor assembly with precision. A simplified highly versatile and very economical apparatus is achieved.

  • Patent number: 4489634
Abstract: A table for supporting and guiding diverse portable power tools with precision and safety is disclosed. In one mode of use with a sabre saw, adjustable guide rails for the saw have free-floating engagement with locator posts on the table and rest directly on the workpiece which is being cut. The guide rails at one end can be raised or lowered for precise leveling and locked in the chosen position. Very smooth cutting by the sabre saw is enabled without chattering of the workpiece. In another form of the table there is a second mode of use with a circular saw or router, the guide rails are supported at a fixed height atop the locator posts and above the top surface of the workpiece resting on the table. A workpiece protractor guide on the table enables various cutting angles. Precision cutting of cove molding by a sabre or circular saw is possible by proper angular adjustment of the protractor guide and saw blade.

  • Patent number: 4378716
Abstract: A guide table for diverse power woodworking tools includes a pair of laterally relatively adjustable power tool guide rails. Ripping of lumber by means of a sabre saw is enabled by the addition to the table of a sabre saw blade guide slot perpendicular to the guide rails, the provision of a precision adjustable lumber guide on the table parallel to the sabre saw guide slot and the provision on one guide rail of a quick attachable and removable locator device for the sole plate of a sabre saw which requires only an initial adjustment to allow subsequent usage with the same sabre saw. An adjustable lumber hold-down element is provided on one guide rail of the table.

  • Patent number: 4350066
Abstract: Precision cutting of cove molding in all commercial sizes and designs is obtained by an apparatus which includes a flat bed plate having a straight saw blade slot formed therethrough and a power saw guideway along the slot. A rest for cove molding extending away from one side of the saw blade slot at an angle of 45 degrees thereto includes opposite side flat surfaces which rise from the top of the bed plate at angles of 45 degrees to the bed plate, the rest having a flat bottom surface to engage the bed plate. As an attachment to existing saw table equipment, the cove molding rest may have a bottom recess including an end stop surface to fit over a protractor guide of the existing equipment. All customary angle cuts of the cove molding are greatly facilitated.

  • Patent number: 4320678
Abstract: A portable saw table having an elevated, adjustable track for accommodating various cutting tools such as sabre saws, circular saws and routers, a guide mounted beneath the conventional saw table slot for guiding a cantilevered type blade, such as a sabre saw, during the reciprocatory movement thereof, an adjustable guide member connected to the arm of a protractor mounted on the table, and a pressure block adjustably mounted on the table for biasing the workpiece against the protractor guide member during the cutting operation.
