  • Publication number: 20140210692
Abstract: An electronic display system for use, for example, in a retail outlet comprises a plurality of small display module commonly known as electronic shelf labels. The system also comprises a plurality of base stations for transmitting, to the display modules, representations of images to be displayed. This disclosure teaches an electronic display system wherein base stations are connected directly to the Internet. A single processor can transmit data, metadata and commands to base stations located in different retail outlets. Thus, a single processor can remotely manage display modules in a plurality of different retail outlets that are located at different geographical locations.

  • Patent number: 6158477
Abstract: A flexible duct and method for making the duct are disclosed. The duct includes an inner wall bonded to an outer wall, with a wire resilient helix and a scrim sandwiched therebetween. The scrim is in the form of a helical tape embedded between the outer wall and the inner wall, and preferably consists of a bonded yarn constructed in a layered or interwoven square or other uninterrupted geometrical pattern. The presence of the scrim provides the duct with high tensile strength and excellent tear resistance in all directions, especially in the helical direction. The method of manufacturing the duct includes the steps of helically forming the wire and scrim about the inner wall and bonding the outer wall to the inner wall to as to sandwich the helix and the scrim between the inner and outer walls.

  • Patent number: 4356784
Abstract: The integrated tug-barge vessel consists of a separable barge and tug; the stern of the barge is formed of a pair of rearwardly extending projections defining a notch therebetween; the inside wall of each stern projection displays a buttress that engages into a longitudinal guideway, defined by a pair of rails on each sidewall of the tug, when the tug approaches the stern notch of the barge; the engagement of this buttress into a constricted portion of the guideway controls the vertical and torsional movements of the tug as it engages the stern of the barge; the disclosure herein is also concerned with describing a coupling device for snugly linking the tug to the barge; it includes a housing located at the stern of the barge and a linkage assembly mounted at the bow of the tug consisting of an hydraulic cylinder that actuates an arm and lever arrangement for the engagement and the disengagement of the tug to and from the barge.
