A locking mechanism is movable between locked and unlocked positions to lock and unlock the container. The lock includes lock pins that slide through aligned lock holes in the base and the lid.

The security device includes a lock that holds the base in the locked position. A key may be used to unlock the base. Customers may remove items of merchandise from the security device while the lock and base are in their locked positions.
