    Abstract: A method of making a glass sheet comprises laminating a high CTE core glass to a low CTE clad glass at high temperatures and allowing the laminate to cool creating compressive stress in the clad glass, and then ion exchanging the laminate to increase the compressive stress in the outer near surface regions of the clad glass. The core glass may include ions that exchange with ion in the clad glass to increase the compressive stress in inner surface regions of the clad glass adjacent to the clad glass/core glass interfaces. The glass laminate may be formed and laminated using a fusion forming and laminating process and fusion formable and ion exchangeable glass compositions.

    Abstract: Fuel cell systems configured for efficient byproduct recovery and reuse are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a fuel cell system includes a reformer configured to reform a fuel containing methane (CH4) with steam to produce a reformed fuel having methane (CH4), carbon monoxide (CO), and hydrogen (H2). The fuel cell system also includes a fuel cell configured to perform an electrochemical reaction between a first portion of the reformed fuel and oxygen (O2) to produce electricity and an exhaust having carbon dioxide (CO2), water (H2O), and a second portion of the reformed fuel. The fuel cell system further includes an oxygen enricher configured to generate an oxygen enriched gas and a combustion chamber configured to combust the second portion of the reformed fuel with the oxygen enriched gas.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for minimizing retinal exposure to flash during image gathering for diagnosis. In an embodiment, a system captures a plurality of retinal images of different retinal regions. The system determines that a first portion of a first image does not meet a criterion while a second portion of the first image does meet the criterion, identifies a portion of the retina depicted in the first portion that does not meet the criterion, and determines whether the portion of the retina is depicted in a third portion of a second image and whether the third portion meets the criterion. Responsive to determining that the third portion meets the criterion, the system performs the diagnosis. Responsive to determining that the portion of the retina is not depicted in the second image, the system captures an additional image of the retinal region.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are drawn to apparatuses, systems, and methods for range peak pairing and high accuracy target tracking using frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) light detection and ranging (LiDAR). A laser source may illuminate a target with a first laser chirp pair during a first time period and a second laser chirp pair during a second time period. Based on the configuration of the chirps between the pairs and within the pairs, properties of the target may be determined. For example, range estimates may be made based on each chirp pair, and those estimates may be averaged to cancel out a Doppler shift error. In another example, the Doppler shift may be determined, which may increase the accuracy of a range measurement and/or be used to identify which peaks are associated with a given target.

The processor commands the imaging device to capture an image that is lit by the flash component at the second intensity, and receives the image from the imaging device.

    Abstract: The disclosure presents systems and methods for processing a specimen slide using a specimen processing system. Specimen slides may sequentially be ejected from a slide carrier towards a label reader to determine an appropriate processing protocol for the slides. A cracking element may be engaged with the slide carrier prior to ejecting the slide, in order to break or “crack” any residual adhesive bond between edges of a slide and walls of the carrier. The specimen slides may be horizontally aligned and resting on a corresponding plurality of flat shelves, enabling even spacing via gravitational forces. The slides are therefore evenly spaced, enabling damage-free ejection of slides, and proper positioning for additional operations including scanning, viewing, heating, washing, and other processing.
