Abstract: A shredder includes a shredder box having a first end wall, a second end wall, and opposite side walls extending between the first and second end walls. A lower discharge opening discharges shredded material from the shredder box. A shredder rotor is positioned within an interior of the shredder box, the shredder rotor being rotatable about a rotor axis and including a main rotor body and plurality of rotor teeth mounted to the main rotor body. A shredder comb is positioned adjacent to the shredder rotor and includes comb teeth that intermesh with the rotor teeth. An upper hopper is located above the shredder box for receiving material to be shredded. The upper hopper includes an upper hopper end wall formed with a concavity to facilitate feeding of material to be shredded into the shredder box and to the shredder rotor.
