  • Patent number: 12229502
Abstract: A method for facilitating private drafting is described. A request to edit a section of a document in a draft mode is received from a first user of a plurality of users collaborating on the document. An edit for the section of the document in the draft mode is received from the first user. A result of the edit is displayed on a computing device of the first user but not on computing devices of other users of the plurality of users. A request to publish the edit is received from the first user. In response to the request to publish the edit, the result of the edit is displayed on computing devices of the other users of the plurality of users.

Abstract: A method includes providing a cartridge and the cartridge includes a slot for receiving a microfluidic chip having a set of first channels. The cartridge also includes a set of second channels and each channel of the set of second channels is coupleable to a different channel of the set of first channels during use with the microfluidic chip. The cartridge also includes an indent configured for engagement and alignment of the cartridge during use. The method also includes inserting the cartridge into a device, such that the cartridge engages a first biasing member of the device configured for alignment of the cartridge in a first direction. • Publication number: 20240311917
Abstract: An automated precious metal portfolio selection system and method that promotes a self-assessment of risk tolerance which can be completed by an investor or third-party salesperson to input the same in an evaluation protocol which sets forth a level of risk tolerance, and the generation of a portfolio of precious metals items. Through an application of standardized protocol, the salesperson need not have experience of a numismatist or precious metals expert. The automated system and method provide a confirmation of the final calculation of the cost of the precious metal items as of the closing of a financial transaction. The precious metal items are transferred along with a suitable inventory for the various types and/or denominations of the precious metal items, and a depository account is created. The system and method can also facilitate reporting the then current value and any obligation to necessary parties, such as for an IRA.

  • Publication number: 20240195040
Abstract: A self-tuning, resonant cavity transmitter combiner joins multiple RF transmitters and combines their signals onto a single transmission line. An additional tuning element is added to the junction of the signal paths to overcome the bandwidth limitations of the transmission lines joining the signal paths. An algorithm was developed to optimize the RF performance of the combiner by sampling the RF signals at various points in the RF circuit.

  • Patent number: 11395762
Abstract: A phacoemulsification or aspiration tip is designed for use in cataract surgeries. The phacoemulsification tip (also referred to as a phaco tip) can reduce the duration and energy of cataract surgeries because the phaco tip is designed to reduce the likelihood that cataract fragments will become clogged inside the phaco tip. For example, the phaco tip has a lumen with variable sized diameters, which helps filter out larger cataract fragments that are more likely to clog the phaco tip. Further, the phaco tip can have a larger diameter at a bend to prevent blockages. The opening of the phaco tip can have a sharp edge to shear cataract fragments into smaller pieces that are less likely to clog the phaco tip. By preventing blockages using the phaco tip and reducing the duration of cataract surgeries, patients may recover faster from the cataract surgeries.

  • Publication number: 20220039787
Abstract: An anterior chamber maintainer (ACM) is fastened to the cornea of a patient's eye at one or more, or potentially two or more, points of contact. The ACM can be inserted through a first and second incision. The ACM can be fastened to each of the two incisions using, for example, friction surfaces, ridges, a malleable tip, magnets, a segmented tip, or other types of fasteners. The ACM includes openings to provide irrigation solution to maintain the volume of the patient's eye during cataract surgery. The shape of the openings can be customized to reduce the amount of turbulence caused by the irrigation solution. By fastening the ACM to the cornea, the ACM is less likely to shift around or become dislodged from the eye during surgery. The ACM can be integrated with iris retractors to hold the position of a floppy iris during surgery.

  • Publication number: 20210333437
Abstract: An anti-reflective coating including a plurality of first layers, which each comprise a first material with a relatively high refractive index, and a plurality of second layers, which each comprise a second material with a relatively low refractive index. A total thickness of the first layers comprised of the first material is about 120 nm or less. Additionally, the anti-reflective coating is configured to absorb about 0.25% or less of light for a single reflection of the average of the s- and p-polarizations of the light, at every wavelength between about 425 nm to about 495 nm, when the light is propagating under total internal reflection.
