  • Publication number: 20030076204
Abstract: A removable quick connect terminal for an electric power switch has a molded housing with an open cavity and an electrically conductive terminal member with a plurality of male terminations that project through slots in a cavity wall in the housing into the open cavity. The terminal member has a tang projecting outward from the housing that is clamped by a conventional collar terminal to a power conductor of the switch projecting into an external terminal recess in the molded switch casing. The terminal member is secured to the molded housing by a pair of oppositely facing chamfered catches engaging an opening in the flat center section of the terminal member. The molded housing of the quick connect terminal has hooks which engage abutment surfaces on the switch casing and a pair of integral compliant latches which engage latch ledges in the external terminal recess to removably secure the housing to the switch casing.

  • Publication number: 20030075429
Abstract: A monolithic finger barrier for blocking insertion of a human finger into the open end of a terminal recess in the molded casing of an electric power switch such as a circuit breaker includes a planar member that slides into mountings slots in the switch casing traverse to the open end of the terminal recess and has integral resilient fingers extending along one face adjacent side edges of the planar member. Laterally, outwardly extending catches on the resilient fingers, which engage catch surfaces in the casing, can only be released to remove the barrier when the planar member is installed with the one face facing away from the terminal recess so that integral grips on the fingers are accessible.

  • Patent number: 6392513
Abstract: A miniature circuit breaker incorporating ground fault protection and arc fault protection has a common rocker button for selectively actuating a ground fault test switch and an arc fault test switch. A leaf spring seated in a groove in the rocker button has converging legs which bias the common rocker button from the ground fault test position, and in the opposite direction from the arc fault test position, respectively, toward a central, neutral position.

  • Patent number: 6285534
Abstract: A miniature circuit breaker providing arc fault protection and ground fault protection has a common rocker button that selectively deflects orthogonally oriented flat electrically conductive test switch spring contacts of an arc fault test circuit and a ground fault test circuit into engagement with a common contact to test each of these protection functions independently. The pivot axis of the rocker button is parallel to the planes of each of the test switch spring contacts and the button has opposed fingers which preload both of the spring contacts to bias the rocker button to a neutral position.

  • Patent number: 6280264
Abstract: A terminal connector connects wire with a range of diameters to the conductor of an electrical power switch. The connector includes a collar with a laterally extending slot sized and shaped to receive the switch conductor. An aperture adjacent the slot is sized to accommodate the full range of wire diameters. A screw is threaded into a longitudinal tapped bore in the collar to clamp the wire to the conductor. The collar is reversible on the conductor for access to the screw for panel and DIN rail mounting of the power switch. A telescoping screw extends the range of wire sizes accommodated. The aperture is shaped to funnel wire diameters in the lower end of the range of diameters under an inner screw of the telescoping screw and into engagement with the switch conductor.
