  • Patent number: 10689994
Abstract: Various embodiments include gas turbine seals and methods of forming such seals. In some cases, a turbine includes: a first arcuate component adjacent to a second arcuate component, each arcuate component including one or more slots located in an end face, each of the one or more slots having a plurality of axial surfaces and radially facing surfaces extending from opposite ends of the axial surfaces and a seal assembly disposed in the slot. The seal assembly including a backup intersegment seal disposed in the slot on a high-pressure side of the slot and a shim seal disposed in the slot over the backup intersegment seal and covering the backup intersegment seal on a low-pressure side of the slot. The shim seal including one or more shim seal segments and having a gap formed between each of the one or more shim seal segments.

  • Patent number: 7191899
Abstract: A disc cartridge storage case has a clam-shell type construction with front and back panels and a middle panel connected between the front and back panels by integral hinges. The front and back panels are pivotable relative to the middle panel between respective open and closed positions. A holder is provided on the middle panel for holding a disc cartridge perpendicular to the middle panel. The holder has a rigid support and a flexible support with a slot therebetween for receiving the disc cartridge. Pins with beveled ends are provided on the flexible support and extend into the slot for engaging corresponding holes in the disc cartridge. The flexible support allows the pins to be flexed outwardly away from the first rigid support to facilitate inserting and removing the disc cartridge from the slot. The back panel prevents the flexible support from flexing outward when the case is closed.
