  • Patent number: 7192716
Abstract: Protein markers associated with organ transplant rejection and associated conditions are disclosed, and in particular materials and methods relating to the diagnosis and treatment of acute rejection. Examples of markers include a-Crystallin b-chain Tropomyosin a-chain and Myosin Light Chain 1.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 30, 2001
Date of Patent: March 20, 2007
Inventors: Marlene Lydia Rose, Michael John Dunn
  • Patent number: 7132245
Abstract: The application discloses markers associated with organ transplant rejection and associated conditions, and in particular provides materials and methods for the diagnosis, prognosis or treatment of chronic rejection of transplanted organ such as heart and kidney. Examples of the markers include ribosomal protein L7, ?-transducin, 1-TRAF (also known as TANK) or lysyl-tRNA synthetase, or antibodies against these antigens.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 29, 2000

    Assignee: Imperial Innovation Limited
Inventors: Marlene Lydia Rose, Michael John Dunn, Adam Linke
  • Patent number: 6806090
Abstract: A process for establishing a standard specification for a medicinal plant material comprises: (i) preparing a test solution or test extract of a sample of the medicinal plant material which is known to possess the or each property required for the standard; (ii) submitting the said solution or extract to two or more analytical methods including (a) a combination of NMR spectroscopy and a computer-based pattern recognition technique, and (b) one or more biological profiling techniques; (iii) obtaining results from the analytical methods used in step (ii); and (iv) establishing a standard specification for the said plant material on the basis of the results obtained in step (iii). Candidate samples of the medicinal plant material may subsequently be tested for compliance with the standard. They can be accepted or rejected depending on whether they give analytical results which fall within or outside either part or all of the specification established in step (iv).

  • Patent number: 5716787
Abstract: Antibodies that are indicative of organ transplant rejection, for example, cardiac or kidney transplant rejection, and of associated pathological conditions, for example, accelerated (or transplant-associated) coronary artery disease (CAD) are identified, as are antigens that bind to such antibodies. The antigens are used in immunoassays to diagnose transplant rejection and associated pathological conditions, and in the treatment of transplant rejection. The antigens and antibodies are particularly useful in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic rejection and associated conditions, especially rapid onset vasculopathy.
