  • Patent number: 10441895
Abstract: A system has a first plate heat exchanger at a first pressure to heat a fluid containing dissolved solids to form a heated fluid at a temperature below the boiling point of the fluid. A vaporization chamber is connected to the first plate heat exchanger. The vaporization chamber is at a second pressure below the first pressure. The vaporization chamber receives the heated fluid and produces a gaseous component substantially free of dissolved solids and a solids component. A compressor is connected to the vaporization chamber. The compressor receives the gaseous component and produces a fluidic output. The first plate heat exchanger has plates forming chambers. A manifold arrangement distributes an unprocessed fluid from the vaporization chamber to a first subset of the chambers and distributes the fluidic output from the compressor to a second subset of the chambers.

  • Publication number: 20130206015
Abstract: A solid fuel grill containing a controller designed to automatically maintain a user defined cooking temperature. The controller is provided with a temperature signals from a thermocouple probe inside the grill, and calculates the appropriate airflow change needed to increase, decrease or maintain the cooking temperature and drives a motor to position a damper over the air vent to the appropriate position. This allows the grill to automatically maintain an accurate cooking temperature until the food is cooked. A low fuel alarm is initiated when the level of fuel falls below required levels to maintain the desired cooking temperature.

  • Patent number: 8496787
Abstract: A method and apparatus for eliminating brine effluent from desalination plants by distillation, is disclosed. To eliminate the brine the salt is converted into a solid and all of the water in the brine is converted to distilled water. The key to achieving this is reducing or eliminating the scale formation in the heating chamber. In one embodiment the process can be used to reduce or eliminate scale formation in a vapor compression sea water desalinization system and there-by use this system to produce drinking water. This process requires no chemical additives but relies entirely upon separation of the process of vaporization of the fluid involved, from the process of heating of the fluid. In one embodiment of this apparatus sea water can be desalinated and the resulting products can be dry salt and pure water leaving no brine return to the ocean.
