  • Patent number: 9749789
Abstract: A system, associated with a round of ammunition, that enables a location of the round to be determined as a function of time, includes an antenna to receive a radio frequency (RF) signal, and output an electrical signal based on the RF signal. The system also includes a processor to execute instructions to receive the electrical signal from the antenna, and process the electrical signal to obtain network information that identifies a network address of a network device and a first time that the electrical signal was received. The system further includes a memory to store the network information to enable retrieval after the round is discharged from a firearm. The retrieval of the network information enables the network device to be identified based on the network address, and a proximate location of the round to be determined, at the first time, based on the location of the network device.

  • Publication number: 20170087929
Abstract: Herein is described a non-metallic rim for a wheel, the rim comprising: a barrel having first and second flanges extending radially outward from opposing edges of the barrel, and the barrel comprising a first bead seat and a second bead seat arranged axially inwardly, respectively, of the first and second flanges, wherein a primary structural component extends at least through the first flange and the barrel, the primary structural component being capable of bearing the majority of the radial and/or lateral load that, in use, would be borne by the rim a protective insert is disposed between an outer face of the first flange and the primary structural component and/or at least a portion of the first bead seat is spaced apart from the primary structural component and the primary structural component, bead seat and, if present, the protective insert are bound by a polymer matrix.

  • Patent number: 5849284
Abstract: The invention disclosed is related to a composition for the control of molluscs wherein an effective amount of infective dauer larvae of Phasmarhabditis nematodes which have been cultured with a nematode growth promoting and pathogenicity-inducing bacterium, as well as a carrier or encapsulation agent are provided as the ingredients for the composition. Further, the composition can be used in the form of a water-dispersable powder comprising as the carrier a calcium montmorillonite clay. The nematode concentration in the water-dispersable powder is 0.1.times.10.sup.6 to 2.0.times.10.sup.6 per gram of total composition (wet weight), and preferably from 0.3.times.10.sup.6 to 0.8.times.10.sup.6 per gram of the total composition (wet weight). Further, the nematodes are selected from amongst the species P. neopapillosa or P. hermaphrodita. The growth promoting bacterium is a Moraxella osloensis strain or Pseudomonas fluorescens strain.
