  • Patent number: 11202879
Abstract: A humidifier is for an airway pressure support system for delivering a humidified flow of breathing gas to an airway of a patient. The humidifier includes a water chamber, a filter, a filtration meter, a conduit, a nozzle, and a heater plate. The filter has a housing structured to house a filtration medium therein and having an inlet fluidly connected with the water chamber and an outlet. The filtration meter includes an inlet fluidly connected to the outlet of the filter, an outlet, a body portion extending between the inlet and the outlet which is structured to convey water from the inlet of the filtration meter to the outlet of the filtration meter, and a mechanism located in the body portion which is structured to measure filtration data of the water conveyed through the body portion.

  • Publication number: 20210170131
Abstract: A patient interface for use in delivering a flow of a breathing gas to an airway of a patient includes a body that defines a cavity therein that is structured to receive the flow of breathing gas. A first aperture defined in the body is positioned and structured to communicate the flow of breathing gas from the cavity to an airway of the patient. A second aperture defined in the body is sized and configured to provide a pathway between the cavity and an ambient environment in which the body is disposed. The patient interface further includes a restrictor element that is selectively coupled to the body. The restrictor element includes a blocking portion that obstructs at least a portion of the second aperture.

  • Patent number: 10806878
Abstract: The present disclosure pertains to a pressure support system configured to provide pressure support therapy to a subject, wherein the pressure support system comprises a subject interface heater configured to controllably heat a pressurized flow of breathable gas to a target temperature that is offset from a baseline temperature. The breathable gas baseline temperature target offset ensures the gas delivered to the subject is delivered at a comfortable temperature and/or humidity level that does not cause airway dryness or result in condensed water in the subject interface. In one embodiment, the pressure support system comprises one or more of a pressure generator, a subject interface, a subject interface heater, one or more subject interface temperature sensors, one or more baseline temperature sensors, one or more general sensors, a humidifier, a user interface, a processor, electronic storage, and/or other components.
