    Abstract: A method is described for operating an electric motor. The electric motor has at least two phases and a rotor. In the method, a current angular position (phipos) of the rotor is ascertained and, as a function of that, in at least one of the two phases, a potential is applied in such a way that a desired angular position (phiposreq) is achieved. From the current angular position (phipos) and the desired angular position (phiposreq) a setpoint angular velocity (dphides) is ascertained, which is used for influencing the potential.
