  • Patent number: 11951241
Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for performing peritoneal dialysis. According to one aspect, the disclosure provides a sterile interface connection for connecting a water purification system to a disposable source of dialysate concentrates. The sterile interface connection can include a chamber comprising an inlet adapted to be connected to the water purification system on a proximal end and a valve on a distal end. The sterile interface connection can also include spring-loaded needle disposed in the chamber. The spring-loaded needle can move between a retracted configuration in which the spring-loaded needle is fully retracted into the chamber and the valve is closed and sealed, and an extended configuration in which the spring-loaded needle extends through the valve into the disposable source of dialysate concentrates.

  • Publication number: 20240102110
Abstract: Methods for the rapid detection of the presence or absence of Malaria parasites (including Plasmodium) in a biological or non-biological sample are described. The methods can include performing an amplifying step, a hybridizing step, and a detecting step. Additionally, the assay can be a multiplex assay, to amplify and detect a plurality of Plasmodium targets simultaneously, which offers advantages over singleplex assays. Furthermore, oligonucleotide primers and oligonucleotide probes targeting Malaria parasites (including Plasmodium) and kits are provided that are designed for the detection of Plasmodium, including, but not limited to, the Plasmodium species of P. falciparum, P. vivax, P. ovale, P. knowlesi, and P. malariae. Also described are kits, reaction mixtures, and oligonucleotides (e.g., primer and probe) for the amplification and detection of Malaria parasites (including Plasmodium).

  • Publication number: 20230082978
Abstract: A traffic policy includes policy rules that specify branch actions in their action fields. A branch action specifies another policy rule in the traffic policy. Packet filters generated from the traffic policy represent the traffic policy rules and execution order semantics of the branch rules. The packet filters include resolved actions that are generated by resolving the original actions in the policy rules.

  • Patent number: 9063814
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer program apparatus, implementing techniques for publishing, subscribing to, or playing live appliances. A live appliance includes a current virtual machine image. In publishing, a proxy file of a live appliance file type is provided to the publisher. The type is mapped to a live appliance player; so that when a proxy file is opened, the current virtual machine image is run. The player automatically binds a writeable file system external to the virtual machine image to the image to provide file storage that is accessible from within the virtual machine image and from a host operating system. The player also creates a subscription to the live appliance on the host computer if one does not exist when the proxy file is run. With the subscription, the player runs the then-current virtual machine image whenever the live appliance is run.

  • Patent number: 8527982
Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting, installing and uninstalling a virtual machine monitor on a host device is provided. In general, in one aspect, a computer implemented method is provided. The computer implemented method includes initiating a user session on a host device, where the user session is initiated upon the insertion of a peripheral device into the host device. Additionally, a virtual machine monitor and a virtual machine are stored on the peripheral device and the virtual machine monitor is automatically installed on the host device. In some implementations, the virtual machine monitor is automatically uninstalled when the user session is terminated.

  • Patent number: 7694290
Abstract: A method and system to optimize throughput of executable program code are provided. The system comprises a profiler to receive a representation of a plurality of functions, an aggregator, and a mapper to map the plurality of aggregates to a plurality of processors. The aggregator may be configured to create an aggregate for each function from the plurality of functions thereby creating a plurality of aggregates, choose an optimization action between grouping and duplication based on the number of aggregates in the plurality of aggregates, the number of available processing elements (PEs), and execution time of each aggregate, and perform the chosen optimization action.
