  • Patent number: 12122704
Abstract: An inorganic fiber containing silica, alumina, one or more alkali metal oxides, and one or more of alkaline earth metal oxides, transition metal oxides, or lanthanide series metal oxides. The inorganic fiber exhibits good thermal performance at use temperatures of 1260° C. and greater, retains mechanical integrity after exposure to the use temperatures, is free of crystalline silica upon devitrification, is alkali flux resistant, exhibits low bio-persistence in an acidic medium, and exhibits low dissolution in a neutral medium. Also provided are thermal insulation products incorporating the inorganic fibers, a method for preparing the inorganic fiber and a method of thermally insulating articles using thermal insulation prepared from the inorganic fibers.

  • Publication number: 20240340095
Abstract: A management system may analyze signal strengths of signals received, from a plurality of devices, by a first device located in a first location of an enclosed structure. The management system may determine, based on analyzing the signal strengths, that a first subset of devices are located outside of the enclosed structure and that a second subset of devices are located inside of the structure. The second subset of devices include a second device and a third device that are stationary. The management system may determine that the first signal strength, of the second device, has increased by an attenuation value and that the second signal strength, of the third device, has decreased by the attenuation value. The management system may determine that the first device has been relocated based on the first signal strength increasing by the attenuation value and the second signal strength decreasing by the attenuation value.

  • Publication number: 20220174928
Abstract: A device, system, and method of controlling pests are disclosed. The system includes an active infrared sensor including infrared emitters and photodetectors. The active infrared sensor is configured to determine an active infrared signature for a monitored space, determine whether the active infrared signature is outside a predetermined window in relation to a baseline signature, and activate a controller in response to determining that the active infrared signature is outside the window. The controller is configured to perform a pest control action in response to activation. The pest control action may include notifying a remote system. The active infrared sensor may be included in a housing having a first opening, a second opening, and a passage sized to receive an insect. The active infrared sensor may be coupled to the housing such that the active infrared sensor is positioned to illuminate part of the passage.
