  • Publication number: 20190212407
Abstract: A phase difference caused by eddy currents is determined for an MR system. First MR data is acquired with a first sequence by irradiating at least one RF pulse having an RF excitation pulse, importing a first test gradient during or after the RF excitation pulse, applying a read-out gradient, and acquiring the first MR data while the read-out gradient is switched, so the first MR data is acquired for at least one K-space line. Second MR data is acquired with a second sequence by importing a second test gradient during or after the RF excitation pulse, and applying the read-out gradient. The second MR data is acquired while the read-out gradient is switched, so the second MR data is acquired for the at least one K-space line. The phase difference per voxel is determined using the first MR data and the second MR data.

  • Publication number: 20190125207
Abstract: A control device establishes a change in a main magnetic field expected for a respective time instant and based on the established expected change in the main magnetic field, correctively adjusts the main magnetic field and/or a nominal receive frequency of the RF receive coil and/or a transmit frequency for subsequent RF transmit pulses and/or takes the expected change in the main magnetic field into account in the evaluation of the received MR signals. At least for some of the RF transmit pulses, the control device acquires, via a sensor device, a portion of the respective radiofrequency wave supplied to the RF transmit coil. The controller extracts therefrom an oscillation corresponding to a respiratory motion of the patient and based on the variation with time of the extracted oscillation, establishes the change in the main magnetic field expected for the respective time instant.

  • Patent number: 10018691
Abstract: In a method, by a magnetic resonance device, a transmit B1 field map is determined for a region, a plurality of MR images of at least one part of the region are acquired using transmitter settings differing from each other, and signal intensities of individual pixels measured by the MR images are interpolated by the transmit B1 field map. A correction of the signal intensities may also be effected by carrying out a receive B1 correction by a spatial mirroring of the transmit B1 field map on a symmetry plane of a measured object. A magnetic resonance device is used to carry out the method. The method may be applied, for example, in medical diagnostics.

  • Publication number: 20140306705
Abstract: A sequence of a plurality of pulses following one another in time is applied to an examination volume of a magnetic resonance apparatus using a plurality of transmission antennas. In order to transmit the respective pulse, the plurality of transmission antennas are actuated using a specific transmission signal by a control device of the magnetic resonance apparatus. The transmission signals have predetermined phase and amplitude relationships to one another. The phase and amplitude relationships of a first pulse of the sequence S differ from the phase and amplitude relationships of a second pulse of the sequence.

  • Publication number: 20120079895
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for generating and/or arranging sequences of a fluid sample in a carrier fluid. The invention comprises a microchannel having an inlet, an outlet and a nozzle opening therebetween leading into the microchannel. The invention further relates to a delivery unit, which pumps in the carrier fluid using a feed volume flow and suctions off the carrier fluid using a discharge volume flow. In a sample container, the nozzle opening is in contact with the fluid sample. By means of a control unit, the ratio between feed volume flow and discharge volume flow is varied. The cross-section of the nozzle opening is selected such that no carrier medium exits from the nozzle opening when the feed volume flow equals the discharge volume flow and that a fluid sample enters the nozzle opening when the discharge volume flow is greater than the feed volume flow. The invention further relates to a method for generating and/or arranging sequences of a fluid sample in a carrier fluid.

  • Publication number: 20070022841
Abstract: A casting system includes a filtration assembly including a filter vessel housing spaced filters pre-heated to a temperature approximating a pouring temperature of molten material to be filtered to prevent breakage of the filter due to thermal shock from contact with the molten material. Preferably, an induction coil is used to inductively heat a susceptor adjacent the filter vessel or inductively heat filters which themselves serve as susceptors. Typically, the filter vessel is disposed below a pouring vessel and above a mold, pour cup and any sprue system used and is heated independently from the same. The filters are heated during pouring to facilitate flow of the molten material therethrough whereby very fine filters may be used. Spacing of the filters enhances flow control and allows a head of molten material to form whereby dross floats to the top of the head to prevent its entry into the mold.

  • Patent number: 7002683
Abstract: A measuring head for determining particle size in transparent media, comprising a measuring head body which has an opening for an optical measuring point with two measuring windows, consisting of an illuminating device and a light receiving device which is connected to an opto-electronic converter device. A rinsing device is used to clean the optical measuring point. The windows can be reliably prevented from becoming fouled or wetted by particles contained in the particle flow, enabling optical permeability of the measuring point and avoiding false measuring values. The rinsing device has a rinsing medium source, a channel extending to the opening inside the measuring head body for delivery of a rinsing medium and at least one discharge opening near the opening, which extends perpendicularly to and directly in front of the measuring windows. At least one defined rinsing jet is spread over the surfaces of the measuring windows.
