  • Publication number: 20220128187
Abstract: A kiosk apparatus with a first carriage assembly attached to an interface member. A second carriage assembly is attached to one or more weights and a linkage connects the first carriage assembly to the second carriage assembly in a movable relationship such that as one of the first carriage assembly or the second carriage assembly moves in a first path, the other assembly moves in a second path, the first path being different than a second path.

  • Patent number: 6795552
Abstract: A network interface device includes an enclosure that houses active electronics for accommodating twisted-pair telephone wires and coaxial cable. The housing has a base that connects to a building wall. A shield locates within the housing, the shield having a platform and a perimeter wall that extends around the platform. A printed circuit board mounts within the shield between the base and the platform. The shield is hinged to the base so that it may be readily removed with the printed circuit board if repair is needed. A subscriber bridge module mounts on the platform. The subscriber bridge module has subscriber line termination points on one side that electrically connect with the subscriber lines. The subscriber bridge module also has telephone jacks electrically connected between the subscriber termination points and the provider line. This provides a demarcation between the subscriber lines and the provider line.

  • Patent number: 6673779
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method of stimulating ciliary beat frequency to promote mucociliary or cough clearance of retained mucus secretions from the lungs, sinuses, upper airways, ears, eyes, genito-urinary tract, spermatozoa, ovaries, fallopian tubes, neutrophils, and macrophages of a patient. The method comprises administering uridine triphosphates, adenosine triphosphates, cytidine triphosphates, or dinucleoside tetraphosphates and the derivatives thereof to an affected body of a patient, to treat dysfunction of the mucociliary clearance system as a result of impaired ciliary movement in the patient.

  • Patent number: 6420347
Abstract: A method of stimulating ciliary beat frequency in a subject in need of such treatment is disclosed. The method comprises administering to the airways, ears, eyes, or genito-urinary tract of the subject a triphosphate nucleotide such as uridine 5′-triphosphate (UTP), an analog of UTP, or any other analog, in an amount effective to stimulate ciliary beat frequency. This method is useful for treating patients afflicted with ciliary dyskinesia, Kartagener's syndrome, or any other disease involving dysfunction of ciliary movement, such as male infertility caused by impairment of propulsion of the spermatozoa or immune deficiency caused by impairment of ciliary movement in neutrophils or macrophages. Pharmaceutical formulations and methods of making the same are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20020073478
Abstract: A cap shape retainer member includes an elongated portion that is interconnectable with the brim of a cap when the brim is in a planar condition. The retainer member is plastically deformable with a single operation to a shape corresponding to the desired curved condition of the brim. When in the desired curved condition, the retainer member resists biasing forces in the brim biasing the brim toward the planar condition.
