  • Publication number: 20170080202
Abstract: A catheter assembly cooperates with a catheter lock enclosure having a base with an entry slot in an end wall. The catheter assembly has a flexible injection line extending from a base and an exterior tube surrounding the injection line and extending from the base. An exterior barrier extends radially outwardly from the exterior tube, and an interior barrier extends radially outwardly from the injection line and is spaced axially along the injection line from the exterior barrier. A gap is defined between the interior barrier and the exterior barrier, which receives the lock enclosure bottom part end wall to restrain the position of the catheter assembly with respect to the lock enclosure, and to restrict access to an interior of the catheter lock enclosure. The exterior tube and the interior and exterior barriers may be formed of high density polyethylene, or hard urethane, or Ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMW).

  • Patent number: 8858505
Abstract: A lock for an outpatient's peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) line limits access to the catheter by patients seeking to abuse injectable narcotics. The lock has two plastic housing halves which slide together, and which define an interior enclosure which receives the catheter line injection port. The housing halves have overlying flanges, through which a fastener extends to secure the device in a closed configuration. The fastener interacts with the flanges in such a way that it cannot be removed without distorting the device and giving evidence of tampering. A zippered sleeve may be provided which surrounds the line leading to the injection port and which has a pull tab which may be engaged within the housing to further prevent access to the line directly.

  • Patent number: 6435290
Abstract: A land vehicle has a flexible central frame member which extends from a large front roller to a smaller rear roller, and is encircled by a flexible looped belt having projecting treads. An engine mounted above the belt drives the front roller, and two bogie wheels engage the belt within valleys formed in the treads. Two boot supports are fixed to the central frame member which support the feet of a standing rider. Rollers fixed to the central frame member support the belt as it travels around the frame. The minimal extent of the frame outside the belt exposes a substantial length of the belt edge to engagement with the ground, making it possible to control the vehicle by twisting and tipping, in a manner similar to the control of a conventional unpowered snowboard. A trailer or sled may be connected to the rear of the vehicle for towing cargo.
