  • Publication number: 20250003013
Abstract: Methods for the rapid detection of the presence or absence of Malaria parasites (including Plasmodium) in a biological or non-biological sample are described. The methods can include performing an amplifying step, a hybridizing step, and a detecting step. Additionally, the assay can be a multiplex assay, to amplify and detect a plurality of Plasmodium targets simultaneously, which offers advantages over singleplex assays. Furthermore, primers and probes targeting Malaria parasites (including Plasmodium) and kits are provided that are designed for the detection of Plasmodium, including, but not limited to, the Plasmodium species of P. falciparum, P. vivax, P. ovale, P. knowlesi, and P. malariae. Also described are kits, reaction mixtures, and oligonucleotides (e.g., primer and probe) for the amplification and detection of Malaria parasites (including Plasmodium).

  • Publication number: 20200085673
Abstract: A therapeutic device includes sensors for collecting biometric health-related parameter information, such as a person's vital signs, during a therapy session for a particular user. A therapeutic program includes an artificial intelligence learning algorithm that uses the biometric health-related information for a particular user acquired during one or more training periods to customize therapeutic parameter values of a therapeutic program to deliver a specialized massage/therapy session that minimizes detriment, and maximizes benefit, to a user by comparing biometric health-related information collected during a therapy session to criteria that corresponds to the health-related information. Biometric health-related information may be stored to a database either local or remote relative to the therapeutic device.

  • Publication number: 20180211250
Abstract: Systems, computer program products, and methods are described herein for transfer of resources via a secure channel using an alias. The present invention receives a first alias associated with a user; dynamically generates a web portal associated with the entity to enable the user to input an authorization code; electronically receives, via the web portal, the authorization code from the user; determine a first resource event based on at least receiving the first alias and the authorization code; triggers the first resource event based on at least a successful validation of the authorization code; and transfers the resources from the user record associated with the third party to the target record via the secure channel in response to triggering the first resource event.

  • Patent number: 6960470
Abstract: Methods of screening candidate drugs for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease are provided. Employing tissue slices of mutant mouse hippocampal cells having an extra copy of a mutant form of the presenilin-1 gene, it is found that these cells have enhanced potentiation to tetanic stimuli. By subjecting both wild-type and mutant hippocampal cells to tetanic stimuli in the presence of a candidate drug, reduction of the enhanced potentiation of the mutant cells without significant change in the potentiation of the wild-type cells indicates a successful candidate.
