    Abstract: Disclosed is a chimeric protein comprising a bacteriorhodopsin polypeptide sequence and a G protein-coupled receptor sequence. Also disclosed is a genetic construct comprising encoding a chimeric bacteriorhodopsin polypeptide sequence and a G protein-coupled receptor sequence. The chimeric protein of the present invention can be used to evaluate various agents for the ability to interact with loop 3 of a G protein-coupled receptor.

    Abstract: An industrial waste disposal apparatus which converts the waste from hazardous to nonhazardous form. The apparatus processes the waste into a solid block of nonhazardous material. The solid block may thereafter be disposed of through conventional disposal methods. This apparatus and process also reduces the volume up to 80% of the original volume.
