  • Patent number: 11185925
Abstract: A process abnormality detection system for a three-dimensional additive manufacturing device which performs additive modeling by emitting a beam to a powder bed determines that a laying abnormality of the powder bed is occurring if at least one of a first condition that an average height of the powder bed from a reference position is out of a first predetermined range or a second condition that a height variation of the powder bed is out of a second predetermined range is satisfied, on the basis of a detection result of a shape measurement sensor.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 8, 2017
Date of Patent: November 30, 2021
    Assignee: MITSUBISHI HEAVY INDUSTRIES, LTD.
Inventors: Ryuichi Narita, Toshiya Watanabe, Akio Kondou, Masashi Kitamura, Hidetaka Haraguchi, Shuji Tanigawa, Claus Thomy, Henry Koehler, Michael Kalms

  • Publication number: 20190299527
Abstract: A three-dimensional additive manufacturing apparatus for additive manufacturing by irradiating a powder bed placed in a build surface area with is configured to project a fringe pattern over the build surface area and detect unevenness in the build surface area, based on image data obtained by capturing an image of the fringe pattern. The projection unit and the imaging unit are disposed so as to avoid an irradiation region of the beam.

  • Patent number: 8696164
Abstract: A device for laser-optical generation of mechanical waves for processing and/or examining a body includes a laser light source for generation of laser light and a modulator, on which a generated laser light falls and with which, from an incident laser light, a predetermined laser light intensity distribution can be generated on or in the body, in such a way that mechanical waves are excited on or in the body, with which the body is processed and/or with which, via detection of said waves, the body can be examined. According to certain aspects of the invention, the modulator is formed as a diffractive optical element wherein a height profile structure is formed on the surface of the diffractive optical element, with which the phase of the incident laser light is varied, thus generating a predetermined laser light intensity distribution.
    Type: Grant
