Abstract: A dental system or kit has components including a water filter, a dental unit, and a handpiece connected with connectors and waterlines having quick disconnect fittings. The components define a water flow path from a water source to the handpiece and can be easily and quickly disconnected at any point along the flow path to access the flow path. A syringe including a disinfecting and/or sterilizing agent is provided to inject the disinfecting and/or sterilizing agent into the flow path to sterilize and/or disinfect the water flow path downstream of the injection site. A self-contained reservoir assembly in communication with a dental unit includes a reservoir assembly and a water filter including a chemical free-filter member.
