  • Publication number: 20260072641
Abstract: A processor is able to re-encode a normal value of a first floating point format to a normalized floating point format, and re-encode a subnormal value of the first floating point format to the normalized floating point format. A subset of the exponent bits of the exponent field of a normalized floating point format is used to encode a predetermined indication of being an exceptional value, wherein a combination of bit values used to encode this predetermined indication does not occur within a range of the exponent field of the normalized floating point format used to represent any possible non-exceptional, normal and subnormal values.

  • Publication number: 20260072643
Abstract: A processor can re-encode from an unnormalized wider floating point format to a normalized wider floating point format, and re-encode from an unnormalized narrower floating point format to a normalized narrower floating point format. According to the disclosure, when performing a wider-format sign injection operation on a NaN-boxed value of the normalized narrower floating point format held in a source register of a set of normalized-format registers, a bit manipulation is performed on a bit in the respective source register at a most-significant bit-position of the normalized wider floating point format. When de-normalizing the NaN-boxed value of the normalized narrower floating point format from the respective source register, the bit at the most-significant bit-position of the normalized wider floating point format is ignored in detecting NaN-boxing.

Each wall panel has a plurality of wall stiffeners disposed thereon. The wall stiffeners each extend vertically along the wall panels and outwards therefrom to a first width. A plurality of backer brackets are positioned on opposing ends of each wall panel. Each backer bracket extends vertically downward from a top of the wall panels to the ground level position and outwards therefrom to the first width. A horizontally extending L-shaped edge cap is disposed against the wall stiffeners and backer brackets at the ground level position. A support board material is positioned against the wall stiffeners and backer brackets and supported by the edge cap. • Publication number: 20210399609
Abstract: A gear assembly is provided that simplifies the integration of a differential assembly into the hollow rotor of an electric motor. The gear assembly utilizes a hollow cross member that includes a central portion and a plurality of hollow extension members onto which the gears are mounted. Within each of the hollow extension members is a pin. When the pins are withdrawn, the assembly fits unimpeded within the hollow rotor. When the pins are partially extended out of the corresponding extension members, the ends of the pins fit within apertures in the rotor. A plug fits within a centrally located thru-hole in the central portion of the hollow cross member, thereby locking the pins in the extended position and locking the gear assembly in place.

  • Publication number: 20190085536
Abstract: An improved expansion tank is provided for at least temporarily storing a pumped liquid under pressure, the expansion tank comprising a thin walled outer shell formed of two substantially hemispherical domes joined together, either directly or at the two ends of a central, substantially cylindrical section, and a flexible diaphragm located internally of the tank and secured to the inner surface of the shell of the tank to divide the internal volume of the tank into a fluid-tight section holding a gas under pressure and a fluid-tight section for holding an aqueous liquid under pressure. The improvement comprising diaphragm coupling ring formed as a discrete part of the diaphragm tank that can be fabricated independent of the domes and any cylinder. The diaphragm coupling ring provides a robust, leak-proof seal with the diaphragm, so that it can be connected onto an inner surface of an expansion tank in a separate, secondary operation.

  • Patent number: 10102160
Abstract: A data processing system includes an interrupt controller having a priority level arbitrator and trigger circuitry. The priority level arbitrator and the trigger circuitry operate in parallel to process interrupt signals received by an interrupt signal receiver. The trigger circuitry generates a trigger signal initiating interrupt processing before the priority level arbitrator has completed its arbitration determination at an arbitration-completed time. If the interrupt processing triggered by the trigger signal was inappropriate, then is terminated once the result of the arbitration is known after the arbitration-completed time.

  • Patent number: 9384489
Abstract: Tools providing a flexible selection framework for automated processes. The framework can allow end-users to define their own selection criteria to select a data population to be processed (for example, by a business application). Hence, the tools provide enhanced control over what data is provided to which process. Some such tools employ metadata to define what information the client process needs, how the results will be returned to the client process, and/or what selection tools should be available to select data for the client process, as well as the available data selection tools, which can include both tools provided with a business application as well as third-party and/or user supplied selection tools. The framework might also provide an application programming interface that ensures consistent communication between the population selection engine and the selection tools themselves.
