Patent number: 6730185Abstract: An adhesive leaflet assembly is provided having a carrier web and a plurality of lengthwise oriented leaflet sub-assemblies releasably adhered on the web. The leaflet sub-assemblies have adhesive wing-like extensions that are oriented in a longitudinal direction relative to the carrier web. Longitudinal orientation of these wing-like extensions facilitates application of the leaflet sub-assemblies onto articles having a flat or planar surface in a high-speed continuous labeling operation. A method of providing a leaflet assembly, as well as a method for applying leaflet sub-assemblies are also provided.Type: GrantFiled: September 5, 2001Date of Patent: May 4, 2004Assignee: Rock Ridge Technologies Co.Inventor: Michael Kennedy

Publication number: 20030176942Abstract: An automated packaging line has capability of filling large and small orders, of one or more bottles, each bottle filled with a respective one of a plurality of different pharmaceutical tablets, in a single run. Structure is provided for filling orders for an individual consumer, for a pharmacist, and for a wholesaler, simultaneously, using differently sized bottles, and providing customized labels for each bottle. A flexible filler station simultaneously fills plural bottles with respective tablets. An intelligent data carrying puck carries each bottle, including therein information describing, among others, the bottle, the customer, the order, the pharmaceutical, the bottle size and label information. Puck handling stations (PHS) are dispersed throughout the line, to verify a number of operations implemented on the line and to reject a puck at the earliest opportunity, while permitting subsequent rejection by a subsequent PHS.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 16, 2002Publication date: September 18, 2003Applicant: MERCK & CO., INC.Inventors: Nicholas J. Publication number: 20010036159Abstract: An ISDN test set employs a user selectable dialing mechanism, that allows the test set user to select from multiple types of dialing—overlap dialing and enbloc dialing, through the use of a simplified functional dialing key set. The dialing key set, in combination with dialing software employed by the test set's supervisory control processor, provides the user with substantial ISDN dialing flexibility, while reducing interaction between the user/craftsperson and the test set, that minimizes dialing inaccuracies that often depend upon the skill and familiarity of the technician with ISDN communications. Enbloc redialing (of the most recently dialed number) or of a stored number in memory is provided only in ON-HOOK mode by the operation of a REDIAL or RECALL key. Otherwise (whenever OFF-HOOK) only overlap mode dialing is employed.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 25, 2001Publication date: November 1, 2001Applicant: Harris CorporationInventors: Paul H. Katz, Michael Kennedy

Patent number: 6189977Abstract: The go kart wheel assembly comprises a hub assembly, including a hub, a tire mounted on the hub and a hub cover. The hub includes an outboard peripheral flange and a single hole for receiving a first fastening fastener and at least one projection for cooperating with corresponding projections on the hub cover. The hub cover has at least one projection for cooperative engagement in abating relation internally with each of the at least one projections on the hub. The hub cover is adapted to be visually distinguished from a sidewall of a tire adjacent to the hub cover. Finally, the hub cover is positioned thereby to prevent entering of water into the hub assembly of the go kart wheel assembly at least approximately in a plane which includes the outboard peripheral flange on the hub and is securely held.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 1998Date of Patent: February 20, 2001Inventors: Jason Brent Kennedy, Patrick Michael Kennedy, Laurence Michael Kennedy

Patent number: 6163594Abstract: A portable ISDN test set contains test circuitry that is controllably operative to automatically test the ISDN communication capability of an ISDN circuit. In response to a user operating a prescribed input/output element of a user interface of the test set, the test set's supervisory control processor executes a routine that places an ISDN call over a first bearer channel of the ISDN circuit, the first bearer channel having a first directory number, through a public switched telephone network to a second directory number associated with a second bearer channel of the ISDN circuit. The ISDN call is thus routed by the public switched telephone network back to the ISDN test set. When the ISDN call is received by the test set, it is automatically looped to the public switched telephone network, so that the call is rerouted to the first directory number associated with the first bearer channel to the ISDN test set.Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 1999Date of Patent: December 19, 2000Assignee: Harris CorporationInventors: Michael Kennedy, Paul H. Katz, Roy L. Soto

Patent number: 6077083Abstract: A medical teaching doll is provided with devices for simulating the differences between normal organs, and organs which are physically altered by sickle cell or other disease. The devices simulate the normal and diseased conditions so that the differences can be clearly seen and/or felt. The doll is used to train parents to recognize the signs or symptoms of sickle cell disease so that they may seek medical care for their children before they become more acutely ill. The signs or symptoms which are simulated by the doll include change of color of eye sclera, enlargement of spleen, elevated temperature, labored breathing and/-or coughing, and change of color of skin.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 1999Date of Patent: June 20, 2000Assignee: Children's Hospital of PhiladelphiaInventors: Kim Smith-Whitley, R. Michael Kennedy, Jr.

Patent number: 6005921Abstract: A device and method for testing a telephone circuit in which a caller takes advantage of available caller identification information to complete a ringback test without resort to potentially costly and overused toll trunks. The ringback test device is accessed by a caller (subscriber or craftsperson) who may not be aware of the telephone number from which he is calling when the caller completes a call to a telephone number assigned to the device. As the caller is accessing the test device, the test device detects the caller identification available between the first and second rings to identify the caller's telephone number, and answers the call after the second ring. The test device presents the telephone number to the caller, and the test device may thereafter be used to complete a ringback test to the identified telephone number. The caller ID information may also be display-formatted at the test device and provided to a caller's visual display.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 1997Date of Patent: December 21, 1999Assignee: Harris CorporationInventors: David W. Keefe, Joseph E. Barron, Jeffrey W. Hearsey, Michael Kennedy, Roy L. Soto
