Publication number: 20250090784Abstract: A fluid connector comprises first and second connector parts. The first connector part has a body, a passage through the body, and a cylindrical outer wall with a groove around its circumference. The second connector part has a second body, a second passage, and a plurality of arms extending from a first end of the second body, each arm comprising an inwardly extending projecting portion. The arms allow the projecting portions to engage the groove. The groove has a plurality of contiguous helical portions having alternating orientations. At least one of the connector parts comprises a magnetic portion and the other comprises a second magnetic/ferromagnetic portion. Magnetic attraction between the magnetic portion and the second magnetic/ferromagnetic portion biases the connector parts towards a fully connected configuration. Relative rotation of the connector parts causes the bodies to move away from each other.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 2, 2022Publication date: March 20, 2025Inventors: Rahul KHERA, Ryan Michael KIRKPATRICK, Michael Kenneth TRUSCOTT

The valve assembly comprises a housing comprising a valve inlet, a valve outlet and at least one vent opening, and a diaphragm sealingly connected to the housing at an outer circumference of the diaphragm, wherein the diaphragm divides the housing into; a) an upstream portion, which is in fluid communication with the valve inlet, and b) a downstream portion which is in fluid communication with the valve outlet. The diaphragm has a circular, oval, elliptical or stadium shape. An inner portion of the diaphragm defines a one way inspiratory valve. An outer portion of the diaphragm defines an expiratory release valve. A method of characterising vent flow in a respiratory treatment system which includes such a valve is also described.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 22, 2022Publication date: January 2, 2025Inventors: Sebastien DEUBEL, Sophie Evelyn FOSTER, Liam HOLLEY, Michael Kenneth TRUSCOTT, Etienne VESCHAMBRE

Publication number: 20240017461Abstract: An extrusion die has first and second die bodies that define an extrusion cavity therebetween. The extrusion cavity has an inlet, a primary manifold that extends from the inlet along a flow direction, and an outlet that defines an elongate slot. In some examples, cavity has an intermediate chamber that extends from the primary manifold along the flow direction, the intermediate chamber having a back line and a front line that taper away from one another as they extend outwards towards opposing ends of the die. The primary manifold has a front end portion that is defined between opposing inner surfaces, at least one of inner surface tapering towards the other as it extends along the flow direction. In some examples, the inner surface has first and second curved portions that curve to provide a smoother transition from the primary manifold to a downstream chamber of the extrusion cavity.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 9, 2021Publication date: January 18, 2024Applicant: NORDSON CORPORATIONInventors: Salvatore Giovanni Iuliano, Michael Kenneth Truscott, Brandon James Schultz, Gerrit Van de Rostyne, Cathy Gomez, Günther Lambrecht
