Patent number: 10202825Abstract: A method and apparatus for wellbore control include a downhole facing ball stop and sealing area that can stop and seal with an actuator ball migrating toward surface with wellbore returns or production. The downhole facing ball stop operates with the returning actuator ball to create a seal against any returns or production migrating toward surface such that well control is provided until the ball is removed from the sealing area or a bypass is opened around the seal.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 2016Date of Patent: February 12, 2019Inventors: Daniel Jon Themig, Michael Kenyon

Publication number: 20160333731Abstract: The invention refers to a method for controlling part load operation of a gas turbine comprising a controller wherein a load set point of the controller is greater or equal a minimum load set point. The minimum load set point depends on a hot gas temperature that is calculated based on a hot gas temperature model.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 12, 2015Publication date: November 17, 2016Applicant: GENERAL ELECTRIC TECHNOLOGY GMBHInventors: Mengbin ZHANG, Dirk THERKORN, Stefano BERNERO, Michael KENYON

Publication number: 20140076560Abstract: A stage tool for reverse annular cementing a wellbore, comprising: a main body including a tubular wall with an outer surface and a longitudinal bore extending from a top end to a bottom end; a fluid port through the tubular wall providing fluidic access between the longitudinal bore and the outer surface; and a valve for controlling flow through the fluid port between the outer surface and the inner bore, the valve including a closure for the fluid port and a check valve for permitting one way flow through the fluid port in a direction from the outer surface to the inner bore, the check valve being normally inactive and only acting on fluid flows through the fluid port when activated. The stage tool may be run in closed and opened for cementing by hydraulic actuation of the valve. After sufficient cement has been introduced to the annulus, the stage tool fluid port can be closed to hold the cement in the annulus.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 22, 2012Publication date: March 20, 2014Applicant: PACKERS PLUS ENERGY SERVICES INC.Inventors: Michael Kenyon, Daniel Jon Themig

Publication number: 20120073827Abstract: A ball catching device has been invented that catches an actuator ball used in a wellbore to actuate a downhole tool. The device catches the ball downhole as it begins to flow back with fluids toward surface. The device is configured such that when a ball flows back with wellbore fluids, the ball can flow through the device and if the ball reverses direction, as by falling back due to decreased or stopped production back flow, then the device will catch the ball and keep it from falling back past the device into the well.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 28, 2011Publication date: March 29, 2012Applicant: PACKERS PLUS ENERGY SERVICES INC.Inventors: MICHAEL KENYON, ROBERT JOE COON, DANIEL JON THEMIG, JOHN THOMAS ZUKOWSKI
