Patent number: 7905883Abstract: A TPO bone plate with an offset longitudinal axis has a bone-contacting bottom side and a top side. Sets of overlapping holes communicate through the plate from the top to the bottom side. The overlapping holes have multifaceted surfaces such as a threaded surface or a coaxial series of annular grooves. The sets of overlapping holes are adapted to receive a bone screw with a head and a bone-engaging thread.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2007Date of Patent: March 15, 2011Assignee: Greatbatch Medical S.A.Inventors: Kenneth Bruecker, Alex Khowaylo, Michael Khowaylo, Gary Thau, Robert Young, Patrick White

Patent number: 7740648Abstract: A bone plate(s) of complex form is provided, particularly suited to tibial plateau-leveling osteotomy and a distal femoral osteotomy. The bone plate has a main longitudinal axis, a bone-contacting bottom side (not shown) and a top side with at least three sets of overlapping holes which communicate through the plate from the top to the bottom side. The sets of overlapping holes define threaded apertures having multifaceted surfaces. When applied to a bone, two sets of such overlapping holes are located so as to lie on opposite sides of an osteotomy site and on the tibial plate; a third is aligned at approximately 60 degrees with the longitudinal axis. The configuration of this complex bone plate vary, depending on the physiology of the patient. An object of the invention is to provide an orthopedic surgeon greater flexibility of choice in that a threaded peg providing secure fixing can be positioned at any interval along the bone plate, including at its extreme ends or on its elbow.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2007Date of Patent: June 22, 2010Assignees: Greatbatch Medical S.A., New Generation Devices, Inc.Inventors: Robert Allan Young, Patrick Michel White, Michael Khowaylo

Publication number: 20080039851Abstract: In the field of canine humeral osteotomy, an osteotomy plate including a proximal plate portion lying substantially in a first plane for application to the humerus. The proximal plate portion has a bottom surface adapted for application to the surface of the humerus, and the proximal plate portion has at least one overlapping hole formed therein. The osteotomy plate also includes a distal plate portion lying substantially in a second plane for application to the humerus. The distal plate portion has a bottom surface adapted for application to the surface of the humerus, and the distal plate portion has at least one overlapping hole formed therein. The osteotomy plate also includes a transition region connecting the proximal plate portion to the distal plate portion.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 25, 2006Publication date: February 14, 2008Inventors: Kurt Schulz, Michael Khowaylo, Patrick White, Robert Young
