  • Publication number: 20130333232
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed towards the design of a marking device for writing or drawing on a given surface. The marking device can be made of any material that leaves a residue or makes legible marks on a surface brought into contact with the device. The marking device of the present disclosure can be used to make precise lines or shapes on any material, including rough surfaces, such as, wood, concrete, drywall, tiles, etc. The marking device can consistently produce thin lines without needing any sharpening. The marking device can be attached to a support frame, which can serves as a handle for grasping and using the marking device. The support frame can further provide a housing to shield the marking device from damage when not in use. In one exemplary embodiment, the marking device is shaped as a razorblade and is configured to fit into any standard utility knife. In such an embodiment, the utility knife serves as the support frame for the marking device.

  • Publication number: 20110179658
Abstract: A rolling ruler comprises a blade member configured to facilitate taking a measurement. The blade member is coupled to a handle that is configured to be gripped by a user, wherein the handle acts as a housing for storing a plurality of electronic components, the plurality of electronic components providing predefined functionalities to the rolling ruler. Further at least one roller with a rolling surface that is partially exposed through a backside of the handle for contacting a surface to be measured is in operable contact with a portion of the plurality of electronic components to facilitate measuring distance based on rotations of the at least one roller.

  • Publication number: 20110119938
Abstract: A device for determining level of a surface, the device comprising a plurality of level vials configured to indicate orientation of the device, the plurality of level vials disposed at distinct locations on the device. The device including a radius bottom formed in an object contact surface at substantially the latitudinal center of the contact surface and extending longitudinally the length of the surface. The device further including a joint recess disposed centrally along the longitudinal axis of the device and extending latitudinally across the device. The device also includes one or more user controllable light sources coupled to the plurality of level vials for illuminating the level vials.

  • Publication number: 20110045742
Abstract: In embodiments, an apparatus for sharpening the edges of the ski/snowboard is provided. The apparatus may sharpen the edges of the skies without scratching the ski base. The apparatus may include a file support having holes for affixing a file. In addition, a radius base plate having a curvature is attached with the file support at right angle. In embodiments, the curvature of the plate from the tip to the tail may be symmetrical or asymmetrical and the angle between the file support and the radius base plate may vary between 90 and 96 degrees.

  • Publication number: 20070167118
Abstract: The present invention comprises a tuning device for providing a desired operative edge of a tool or any item wherein a certain operative edge surface is desired. Whether for a new snowboard or ski, or for situations where these items no longer possess the operative edge surface desired, the present invention restores or creates a desired edge quickly with minimal effort. The present invention may include a base, a motor with attached tuning bit and at least one magnetic member designed to achieve a desired distance between the tuning bit and the tool or item being sharpened. By means of the attractive forces created by the magnetic member, the device of the present invention may travel in the same axial direction as that achieved by the rotation of the tuning bit. Although it is preferable for an operator to maintain control of the device at all times during operation, the magnetic forces utilized would ostensibly allow for substantially hands-free operation of the device as desired.
