In response to determining that a scheduled duration for the selected media content item does not satisfy a condition pertaining to a maximum time interval of the focus area, the processing device adjusts a timeline of the focus area based on the scheduled duration of the selected media content, and replaces the subset of metadata in the cell in the focus area with expanded metadata for the selected media content item.

Further, these techniques and apparatuses can also be applied to view information regarding upcoming programs scheduled at a future time.
