  • Publication number: 20200316678
Abstract: The invention relates to a gas purging device for installation in a metallurgical vessel, said device having the following features in a position installed in the bottom of the metallurgical vessel: a lower, largely gas-tight base part, a gas line runs in the base part from a first end in the region of a first outer face of the base part to a second end in the region of a second outer face of the base part, the second end of the gas line is formed as a first portion of a coupling, a second portion of a coupling is located in the region of an outer connection face of a functional part, by means of which the functional part rests against the base part, a gas distribution device runs in the functional part from the second portion of the coupling, through the functional part, to at least one free surface of the functional part formed as a gas outlet face, the base part and functional part are each made of a refractory ceramic material.

  • Publication number: 20190070617
Abstract: The invention pertains to a nozzle for spraying and inorganic mass with the following characteristics: a flow channel (10) that extends from a first end (12) with an essentially circular cross section to a second end (14) with an essentially slot-like cross section. The respective minimum cross section of the flow channel (10) changes from a circular to a reniform and ultimately to a slot-like cross section between the first end (12) and the second end (14), and the flow channel extends between the first end (12) and the second end (14) in such a way that an axis (x) extending perpendicular to the circular cross section on the first end (12) and through its center of area is spaced apart from the center of area of at least 50% of the reniform cross sections of the flow channel (10).

  • Patent number: 8906290
Abstract: A container for molten metal has at least one opening in which a refractory nozzle brick is mounted. A refractory purge plug or a refractory sleeve defining an outlet opening is inserted in the nozzle brick opening. A defined gap is formed between the nozzle brick opening and the purge plug or the sleeve and is filled with a refractory mass, this mass consisting of a material which can be easily bored or milled out of the mass for the purpose of replacing the purge plug or the sleeve. In this manner, laborious cleaning steps can be avoided and the nozzle brick no longer risks being damaged.
