  • Patent number: 10436628
Abstract: A method for adaptive calibration of a fuel level indicator of a filling level of a liquid in a tank accompanying operations. A filling level of the liquid is detected with a sensor arrangement. A sensor signal of the arrangement is provided during a movement of the vehicle. In case that the course of the sensor signal is obtained in a respective defined time interval in which the sensor signal is provided several times, a constant value is assumed, an end stop is detected. The respective time intervals at which the end stops were detected and the respective associated constant values are stored. A minimum number of end stop is defined for the tank, and in the case that the minimum number of end stops is reached, a calibration phase is carried out.

  • Publication number: 20170182891
Abstract: A method for adjusting a range prediction of a motor vehicle based on environmental conditions, includes detecting an outer temperature with at least one environmental sensor detecting a spatial environment of the motor vehicle, and determining with the at least one environmental sensor whether the motor vehicle is present in an internal space or an outside space; and based on the detected outer temperature and the detected spatial environment adjusting a range prediction for the motor vehicle.

  • Patent number: 9662996
Abstract: A method determines the remaining range of a motor vehicle which has an energy store for an electric motor drive which acts the wheels of the motor vehicle. Consumption values which describe the current consumption of the drive and of a secondary consumer are determined using a sensor. A drive prediction value which is assigned to the drive and describes the consumption over a predetermined distance is determined from the consumption values of the drive. A secondary consumption prediction value which is assigned to the secondary consumers and describes the consumption over a predetermined distance is determined separately from the consumption values of the secondary consumers, and the remaining range is determined for a distance which is to be travelled by the motor vehicle and is described by the route data, by taking into account the drive prediction value and the secondary consumption prediction value.

  • Patent number: 9463810
Abstract: In a method for determining and displaying a remaining range of a motor vehicle that can be driven electrically, an instantaneous remaining range of the motor vehicle that can be attained by purely electric driving of the motor vehicle is determined continuously and a display of the determined remaining range on a display unit is controlled, wherein a range preservation mode is activated with the control unit; and the display unit is activated with the control unit. A remaining range determined before the activation of the range preservation mode is displayed with the display unit while the range preservation mode is activated. A device for determining and displaying a remaining range of a motor vehicle that can be driven electrically and a motor vehicle having a device for determining and displaying a remaining range are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8897963
Abstract: A method operates a sensor device in a vehicle. In the method, signals from at least a sensor designed to register an outside temperature are processed. In addition, data that relates to a track located in front of the vehicle is processed. An evaluation of the signals is changed as a function of the data relating to the track. Herewith, it is possible to quickly display an abrupt fall in temperature, such as can be the case when travelling out of a tunnel, on a display belonging to the vehicle and to thus warn the driver of the vehicle in time. A vehicle has a control device that is designed to process signals from a temperature sensor and data that relates to the track located in front of the vehicle.
