  • Patent number: 8342465
Abstract: A height adjustable column, comprising an inner column, an intermediate column having a lower side, an outer column having a lower side, a lifting mechanism having at least a twofold transmission, and a linear actuator. The height adjustable column effects height adjustment by sliding the columns into each other and apart from each other. The linear actuator is dimensioned and arranged such that it protrudes beyond the lower side of the outer column in a state in which the columns are slid into each other.

  • Publication number: 20100187380
Abstract: The invention relates to a height adjustable column, in particular for desks. Object of the invention is to provide an optimized lifting of the column and to achieve a visually appealing small diameter compared to the basic height. The lift of the column ought to be sufficiently large that also small persons can work at the table while sitting, while also a sufficient table elevation can be achieved for tall persons for a standing working position. Therefore, a height adjustable column is provided, which comprises an inner column (1), an intermediate column (2) having a lower side (2a), an outer column (3) having a lower side (3a), a lifting mechanism (21) having at least a two-fold transmission, and a linear actuator (22), being adapted to effect the height adjustment by sliding the columns into each other and apart from each other, wherein the linear actuator (22) is dimensioned and arranged such that it protrudes beyond the lower side (3a) of the outer column (3) in a slid-into-each-other state.

  • Publication number: 20080289544
Abstract: This invention relates to a device and a method for recognizing collision of automatically moveable parts of furniture with obstacles by detecting a change in bend or a change in acceleration. This is carried out by a device for recognizing collisions of automatically moveable parts of furniture with obstacles, comprising a piece of furniture with at least one moveable part (1, 2, 31), wherein this part is a adapted to be moved relatively to the rest of the furniture in a non-manual manner, an automatic driving mechanism adapted to move the moveable part, a controller adapted to control the automatic driving mechanism, and a sensor (4) adapted to detect a collision with an obstacle during the movement of the moveable part and to transmit the collision to the controller, wherein the sensor is adapted to detect a change in bend or a change in acceleration of the moveable part.

  • Publication number: 20080035809
Abstract: The furniture leg has a foot from which a lifting column projects transversely that comprises an external tube and an internal tube that is telescopingly movable relative to the external tube. The external tube is attached to a fastening part of the foot. In order to configure the furniture leg in such a way that the foot and the lifting column can be connected to one another such that deposit locations for dirt and the like are not formed, the exterior side of the external tube at least over most of its circumference passes continuously into the exterior side of the fastening part. In this way, at the transition from the foot to the lifting column no deposit location for dirt is formed. The furniture leg is suitable for tables of any kind, chairs, organ benches and the like.
