  • Publication number: 20130218368
Abstract: A method for selecting or configuring a motor vehicle from a plurality of selectable motor vehicles involves providing a motor vehicle database containing a plurality of selectable motor vehicles, each having an associated first load collective data record describing properties of the motor vehicle which can be detected by a sensor system. Technical properties in a comparison vehicle are detected by a sensor system. A second load collective data record is formed by conditioning of the detected technical properties of the comparison vehicle and the two load collective data records are compared. The first load collective data record from the motor vehicle database having the smallest discrepancy from the second load collective data record is determined and the motor vehicle associated with the first load collective data record having the smallest discrepancy is selected.

  • Publication number: 20090128307
Abstract: The invention relates to a display device for a vehicle comprising a display for representing application data to a vehicle user and pivoting means for moving the display between at least two positions. The inventive display device is characterized in that it further comprises checking means for checking whether or not the representation of data of an application selected by the vehicle user is permitted in the actual state of the vehicle; release means in order to release the pivoting means for controlling the display according to the application or any application selected by the vehicle user, in case the checking means emits an affirmative signal.

  • Publication number: 20080122598
Abstract: A device is provided for predictively detecting and avoiding motor vehicle collisions, including a control device, a sensor system for sensing obstacles in the surroundings of the vehicle, and a signal transmitter system for audibly and/or visually signaling a significant risk of collision between the vehicle and an obstacle. In order to increase the field of application of such a device, the vehicle can be a utility vehicle, the sensor system being divided into a front sensor arrangement which is arranged in the region of the front of a vehicle, and a rear sensor arrangement which is arranged in the region of the rear of a vehicle. The front sensor arrangement is connected to the control device via a data bus, while the rear sensor arrangement is connected to the control device via a power line communication.

  • Patent number: 6553292
Abstract: In summary, the invention discloses a device and a method for performing remote diagnostics on vehicles, in particular on electrical, mechanical and mechatronic components of vehicles, with which, even in the case of complicated vehicle defects and/or vehicle defects which are difficult to find, the service technician can find and recover the problem in a very short time, if necessary by means of real-time access to external databases and/or by involving a service centre so that the non-operational times in the event of a fault are minimized.
