Publication number: 20240082104Abstract: Resuscitation and ventilation monitoring devices are provided. A device includes an inlet in fluid communication with airflows exchanged with lungs of a patient and an airflow meter for measuring characteristics of the airflows. A user may provide a controller with patient information, e.g., height, weight, gender, or age, via a measurement selector, enabling the controller to determine acceptable ranges of measured airflow characteristics. The device may determine a current mode of ventilation and associated ventilator settings based on the measured airflow characteristics. The device may also identify and filter out artifacts present in the ventilation signal, and determine whether a respiratory failure phenotype is present in the ventilation. If the current mode of ventilation and associated ventilator settings fall outside an acceptable range, the ventilation is classified as off-target and the controller may cause a sensory alarm to alert the user.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 10, 2023Publication date: March 14, 2024Inventors: Michael Austin Johnson, Jason Adams, Jean-Pierre Delplanque, Justin Koos, Gregory Rehm

Publication number: 20160025351Abstract: The system described herein relates to a baking oven having a baking chamber which is provided with an outlet opening leading to a flue. Air is able to escape from the baking chamber through the outlet opening. A fresh air opening with a motor-adjustable flow cross section is provided between the baking chamber and the surroundings. The system adjusts the pressure conditions within the baking chamber optimally throughout the baking operation. A pressure sensor measures pressure in the baking chamber and passes the measurement signals to a control unit which controls the adjustable flow cross section of the fresh air opening on the basis of the measurement signals from the pressure sensor.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 9, 2015Publication date: January 28, 2016Inventors: Michael Koos, Bernd Pfeuffer, Hermann Spaeth

Publication number: 20150316270Abstract: A steam generator for an oven, includes at least one heat transfer element and at least one water conduit which carries water to the heat transfer element. The system optimizes the targeted introduction of steam into a defined space and the removal thereof from the space. This is achieved by means of at least one pressure increasing device which increases the water pressure, such as e.g. a compressed air line through which compressed air is fed to the water.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 6, 2013Publication date: November 5, 2015Inventors: Michael Koos, Bernd Pfeuffer

Patent number: 8676375Abstract: An automated cassette-to-cassette substrate handling system includes a cassette storage module for storing a plurality of substrates in cassettes before and after processing. A substrate carrier storage module stores a plurality of substrate carriers. A substrate carrier loading/unloading module loads substrates from the cassette storage module onto the plurality of substrate carriers and unloads substrates from the plurality of substrate carriers to the cassette storage module. A transport mechanism transports the plurality of substrates between the cassette storage module and the plurality of substrate carriers and transports the plurality of substrate carriers between the substrate carrier loading/unloading module and a processing chamber. A vision system recognizes recesses in the plurality of substrate carriers corresponding to empty substrate positions in the substrate carrier.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2012Date of Patent: March 18, 2014Assignee: Veeco Instruments Inc.Inventors: Joseph Arthur Kraus, Jeremy James Boyer, Joseph Mack, Michael DeChellis, Michael Koo

Publication number: 20110155116Abstract: A baking oven includes an oven housing which has a baking chamber for receiving a baking carriage, a heating device, a fan which generates a flow of a heating medium from the heating device into the baking chamber and back, and a steam system which is arranged in the baking chamber and comprises at least one metal heat storage body and a water supply device. The system described herein provides a baking oven of the type in question in such a way that the thermal energy is optimally used. The steam system is next to a steam heater, which is formed by at least one exhaust gas channel, which runs in a wall of the baking chamber and conducts the exhaust gas of a burner out of the oven housing.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 24, 2009Publication date: June 30, 2011Applicant: MIWE MICHAEL WENZ GMBHInventor: Michael Koos

Publication number: 20100000510Abstract: A baking oven has an oven housing, an oven door which is connected to the oven housing with a hinge at one side, and cooperating sealing elements on the door and in the area of the door opening of the oven housing. The sealing elements include a flexible seal and a seal-contact surface. The sealing elements situated in the vicinity of the upper edge of the door and those being situated in the vicinity of the lower edge of the door having different designs. The sealing elements provided on the door near the upper and lower door edges are releasably attached to the door, so they are interchangeable to improve the ease of installing the door alternatively with a right hinge or a left hinge.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 14, 2007Publication date: January 7, 2010Inventor: Michael Koos
