Publication number: 20240136983Abstract: A scalable periphery tunable matching power amplifier is presented. Varying power levels can be accommodated by selectively activating or deactivating unit cells of which the scalable periphery tunable matching power amplifier is comprised. Tunable matching allows individual unit cells to see a constant output impedance, reducing need for transforming a low impedance up to a system impedance and attendant power loss. The scalable periphery tunable matching power amplifier can also be tuned for different operating conditions such as different frequencies of operation or different modes.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 24, 2023Publication date: April 25, 2024Inventors: Dan William Nobbe, David Halchin, Jeffrey A. Publication number: 20070089633Abstract: An apparatus capable of transporting a rider, specifically for an amusement ride. The apparatus is constructed in the form of a substantially hollow sphere which rides along the ground, which is preferably inclined, a track, or a predetermined path (being substantially flat but with guide rails or walls along its sides). An inner carriage, to which the rider's seat is attached, moves independently of the sphere and maintains a substantially constant attitude while the sphere rolls. The inner carriage can be formed in varying shapes such as a sphere, hemisphere, semicircle, tube or a circle.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 9, 2006Publication date: April 26, 2007Applicant: UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH FLORIDAInventor: Michael Kovac

Patent number: 5918552Abstract: A positioning apparatus featuring a rotary cam mechanism for providing movement of a platform along a vertical axis and an adjustment mechanism for providing movement of a mounting surface of the platform along a horizontal axis located in a horizontal plane oriented perpendicular to the vertical axis. A bifurcated platform, having upper and lower platforms, is mounted in vertically movable relation to a base, and a rotary cam mechanism is interfaced between the base and the platform for providing selective vertical movement of the platform in relation to the base responsive to selective rotation of a rotary cam. The rotary cam is rotatably connected to the base and includes a pair of opposing inclined cam slots formed therein. A pair of cam pins are connected to the lower platform in mutually opposing relation so as to be each respectively located in a respective cam slot. A threaded vertical adjustment bolt is rotatably connected to the base, in axially immovable relation with respect thereto.Type: GrantFiled: November 17, 1997Date of Patent: July 6, 1999Inventor: Michael Kovacs

Patent number: 5236066Abstract: A wheel brake for shopping carts and other wheeled equipment is disclosed. Typically, shopping carts and other wheeled equipment have a yoke depending from a lower end of a leg support, the yoke including a pair of generally parallel downwardly extending arms. A wheel is rotatably mounted on an axle extending between these downwardly extending arms. In order to provide selective braking engagement of the wheel to immobilize the shopping cart or other wheeled equipment, a brake tongue is pivotally mounted at one end to the yoke above the wheel and extends across at least a part of the wheel. A foot pedal is pivotally mounted to the yoke in spaced relationship to the brake tongue for movement between engaged and released positions relative to the wheel. The foot pedal includes a depending brake element for engaging and depressing the brake tongue into selective braking engagement with the wheel when the foot pedal is moved into engaged position by a user.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 1991Date of Patent: August 17, 1993Inventors: Daniel M. Patent number: 4005685Abstract: Fuel injection apparatus for injecting gasoline or other combustible fuel into the cylinders of an internal combustion engine. The apparatus includes a fuel injector body having a diaphragm through which a needle valve extends and a constant fluid pressure is maintained on one side of the diaphragm to urge the needle valve toward closed position. A higher fluid pressure is intermittently applied to the other side of the diaphragm so that the needle valve is opened to spray fuel under pressure into the internal combustion engine, and when the higher pressure is relieved the introduction of fuel is interrupted.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 1975Date of Patent: February 1, 1977Inventors: Endre Kovacs, Peter Kovacs, Michael Kovacs, Marta Kovacs, Geza Kovacs
