The suction power of the vacuum cleaner is maintained over a long period of time by virtue of the fact that the dust collecting receptacle has at least one second dust collecting compartment for collecting at least one second dust fraction separated out by a separating device. The fine dust collected in the second dust collecting compartment via the separating device can no longer reach the filter, and the filter surface is prevented or largely prevented from being clogged by fine dust.
