  • Patent number: 7603093
Abstract: A system to monitor gain in a broadband radio frequency transport system that includes a radio frequency antenna, a remote unit, and a host unit adapted to receive a signal from the remote unit over a transmission link. The remote unit includes a pilot tone generator adapted to generate at least one single-frequency tone having a known power level, a summing circuit operably associated with the pilot tone generator adapted to sum the single-frequency tone with the respective received radio frequency signal. Each host unit includes a pilot tone receiver circuit to receive the transmitted signal and detect the single-frequency tone transmitted over the transmission link. The host unit includes a controller to determine a gain within the transmission link and to determine if the gain is in a preset range of gains based on the power level of the received pilot tone.

  • Publication number: 20090222164
Abstract: A device and method for determining a roll angle of a motorcycle are disclosed. The method includes the step of acquiring a rolling rate ({dot over (?)}M) of the motorcycle. A first roll angle variable (?1) is determined from the rolling rate ({dot over (?)}M). At least one vehicle movement dynamics characteristic variable is determined from a velocity (v), a rotational speed ({dot over (?)}M), and/or an acceleration ({umlaut over (z)}M, ÿM) of the motorcycle. A second roll angle variable (?2) is determined from one or more vehicle movement dynamics characteristic variables. The roll angle (?E) is calculated on the basis of the roll angle variables (?1, ?2).

  • Publication number: 20090180281
Abstract: A submersible high illumination light source assembly is disclosed, comprising at least one module. A module comprises a heat sink having a front surface and a rear surface. A printed circuit board comprising one or more electrical connections sized and shaped to couple with a plurality of high-illumination light emitting diode (LED) lamps is in thermal communication with the front surface of the heat sink. The plurality of high-illumination LED lamps are coupled in electronic communication with the printed circuit board via the one or more electrical connections. At least one reflector is sized and shaped to accept the insertion of one or more of the plurality of high-illumination LED lamps. A window is in watertight communication with the reflector plate. The submersible high illumination light source assembly operates both when submerged underwater and exposed to air.

  • Publication number: 20070067763
Abstract: A method of upgrading the system capability of a communications network is provided. The method involves initiating a transfer of at least one set of upgraded system capability software machine-coded instructions to a host card, instructing the host card to begin an upgrade process, determining whether at least one set of system capability software machine-coded instructions on the host card is valid, and completing the transfer of at least one valid set of system capability software machine-coded instructions to the host card, wherein the system capability is upgraded without affecting operation of the network.
