  • Publication number: 20210312733
Abstract: A method and system that allows authorized individuals access into controlled access locations and the ability to grant temporary and limited access to guests into these locations. The method and system allows for navigational services to be provided to members and guests, and real-time tracking and confirmation to members and administrators that guests have arrived at their destination and did not enter any unauthorized areas. The method preferably can work through a system of wireless radio, sound and/or light-based beacons communicating with member and guest's electronic devices. Members and administrators can send one or more temporary electronic access keys to a guest's smartphone or other electronic device. Wireless radio, sound and/or light-based beacons provide an access control and location tracking system with real-time data about the member and guest whereabouts, allowing for the confirmation and tracking.

  • Publication number: 20210314725
Abstract: A system and method for determining the presence of an individual at a particular spot within a location preferably based on the strength of signals received from beacons assigned to the particular spot by a software application (“App”) running on an electronic device of the individual. In one embodiment, certain presence calculations are performed by the App. In another embodiment, the App forwards information regarding the received beacon signals to an electronic identification and location tracking system and the presence calculations are performed by the system.

  • Publication number: 20210313059
Abstract: A system and method for identifying a customer's location at a business and provide notification to a company representative upon arrival of the customer at the business location. Real-time location determinations for the customer and customer location tracking can be provided. One or more wireless beacons communicate with the customer's electronic device. The beacons provide the system with real-time data about the customer's whereabouts, allowing for the confirmation and tracking of the customer at the location. A first non-limiting example of use, include a company that provides food and beverage allowing the customer to place an order for food and beverages on their electronic device and having the order delivered to the person at their current location as determined by the system. Another non-limiting example includes a company using the notification system to have assigned staff members notified of the customer's arrival.

  • Publication number: 20210264145
Abstract: Systems, methods and media are disclosed for identifying the crossing of a virtual barrier. A person in a 3D image of a room may be circumscribed by a bounding box. The position of the bounding box may be monitored over time, relative to the virtual barrier. If the bounding box touches or crosses the virtual barrier, an alert may be sent to the person being monitored, a caregiver or a clinician. Bounding box tracking may be used in addition to or instead of an initial tracking process, such as skeletal tracking.

  • Publication number: 20210258785
Abstract: A method and system for automatically terminating access or initiating a logout session for a restricted access system by determining that an authorized user has left the vicinity of the restricted access system. The authorized user preferably carries a wireless transmitter which transmits an authorization signal. When the authorized user leaves the vicinity of the restricted access system after logging in, the signal is no longer received by a wireless receiver or too weak of a signal, such that an access control system in communication with the wireless receiver automatically causes the restricted access system to initiate a logout action in order to prevent or reduce the chance of an unauthorized user gaining access to the restricted access system. In one embodiment the signal strength from the authorization signal at the time of logon is used as a baseline signal strength for future calculations that determine when to initiate an automatic termination of access to the restricted access system.

  • Patent number: 11044586
Abstract: A system and method for determining the presence of an asset or person at a particular spot within a location. The asset or person is provided with a beacon transmitting a beacon signal. A plurality of receivers are disposed throughout the location. In one embodiment, two or more adjacent or nearby receivers are grouped together to define a receiver cluster. The receiver cluster having the highest average signal strength from the signal being transmitted from the beacon of the asset or person as determined by an electronic identification and location tracking system determines the particular area within the location where the asset or person is present at.

  • Publication number: 20210142633
Abstract: A prohibited object detection system detects improper use of an object in an area being monitored. An image of an object detected in an area associated with a monitored individual, such as a patient room, is collected, and the system identifies reference points on the object. The system may compare the reference points to reference points of known improper uses of the object. The system may determine whether the detected object in the improper use position is in proximity to at least a portion of the monitored individual or other person within the monitored area. One or more designated recipients may be alerted if the object is in a position consistent with an improper use.

  • Publication number: 20210090420
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for detecting objects or patient safety events in a patient room. Artificial intelligence is utilized to enhance safety issue recognition capabilities by the methods and systems. Sensors collect a series of images and depth data in a room of a patient. Data (corresponding to images and depth data of an object or patent safety event) is received from the sensors and compared to stored data to identify the object or patient safety event. The images are communicated to a central video monitoring system and a user may be prompted to confirm if the object requires learning or a patient safety event occurred (or identify the object or patient safety event) or to provide additional parameters or actions. A patient safety learning system analyzes the data and incorporates the user response to enhance safety issue recognition capabilities of the system and reduce false alerts.

  • Publication number: 20210090424
Abstract: A system and method for electronic notification of a person(s) in proximity to a given location at the time assistance is needed. A networked system of wireless radio, sound and/or light-based beacons are provided for communicating with a person's smartphone, computer system, or other electronic device. Wireless radio, sound and/or light-based beacons selectively broadcast a configurable data set within a given area of the beacon. The strength of the signal can vary depending on the alert type, time to respond requirements and specific characteristics of the location that would affect the time to respond. Software running on the person's smartphone, computer system, tablet or other electronic device preferably receives the signal(s) broadcast by the wireless radio, sound and/or light-based beacons and decoding the data set broadcast.

  • Publication number: 20210068709
Abstract: A location identification system analyzes information received corresponding to a device detected in a room of a patient. On detecting a location identification of the device, the system assigns the device to the location corresponding to the location identification. In embodiments, the system retrieves patient and care team information for the location. The location and patient and care team information may be communicated to a central video monitoring system.

  • Patent number: 10922936
Abstract: A prohibited object detection system detects prohibited objects in an being monitored. An image of an object detected in an area associated with a monitored individual, such as a patient room, is collected, and the system identifies reference points on the object. The system may compare the reference points to reference points of know objects, including objects identified as being prohibited for the monitored individual and/or the facility or area in which the individual is located. The system then determines whether the detected prohibited object is in proximity to the hand of the monitored individual or other person within the monitored area and whether the object is in a position that is consistent with imminent use of the object. One or more designated recipients may be alerted if the object is a prohibited object that is within close proximity and positioned consistently with an imminent use.
