    Abstract: The present invention is a system for handling high purity liquid and a method for the same. The system has a container with a mouth. The container is configured to hold liquid. A cap is coupled with the mouth of the container. A connector is coupled with the cap. The connector has a connector head and a probe extending from the connector head. The probe is insertable through the cap and through the mouth into the container. The probe has a flow passage. The system also has a pressurization source that communicates with the container. Pressure delivered from the source acts upon the container forcing liquid out of the container through the flow passage in the probe. There is also a pressurization port communicating with the connector, the cap, and the pressurization source. Pressure from the pressurization source is delivered to the container when the cap and the connector are properly mated.

The second fluid passage comprises at least one fluid channel circumferentially extending along the first fluid passage so that high purity fluids may be drawn out of the outer container through the first fluid passage and filled into the outer container through the second fluid passage.

A cap, including a first key element, is coupled with the mouth. A connector is coupled with the cap. The connector includes a connector head, a probe, and a second key element. The probe extends from the connector head and is insertable through a center of the cap and into the mouth of the container. The probe has a flow passage. The second key element is configured to mate with the first key element. The system also includes a pump coupled with the probe and with the flow passage. The pump pumps fluid through the probe and the flow passage. The system also includes a sensor for sensing when the first and second key elements are mated and for sensing when the first and second key elements are not mated. Finally, the system includes a controller coupled with the sensor and the pump.

    Abstract: A container for storage, transport, and dispensing of liquid chemicals includes a fluid container having a port, a dip tube having a fluid passage from an upper-end to a lower end of the dip tube, a dip tube coupling at the upper end of the dip tube for insertion into the port, and a rupturable membrane sealed over a top end of the port. The dip tube coupling has a cavity in its upper end and a fluid passage connecting the cavity with the fluid passage of the dip tube. The dip tube coupling defines a gas passage extending from an interior of the fluid container to the cavity. A rupturable membrane is positioned over a top end of the port to seal the cavity, so that when the rupturable membrane is punctured or removed, gas from the fluid container, which has accumulated in the cavity, is permitted to escape. To remove the liquid chemical, the cap is removed to expose the rupturable membrane.

    Abstract: A container for storage, transport and dispensing of liquid chemicals uses a collapsable thin film pouch which is sealed to a fitment and is positioned within a bottle or overpack. A retainer and cap hold the pouch and fitment in place within the bottle. The cap provides an inner seal and an outer seal which remain intact during shipping and storage. In use, the outer seal is removed and the container is connected to either a manual or an automated dispensing system which includes a valve probe which breaks the inner seal. In the manual system the bottle is inverted so that flow of liquid from the pouch is gravity assisted. In the automated system, the container is placed within a pressure vessel and air pressure is applied both to the outside of the bottle and also to the inside of the bottle to assist in collapsing the pouch and forcing the liquid out of the pouch.

    Abstract: A liquid chemical handling system is suitable for handling a liquid chemical during dispensing. A container holds the liquid chemical and a collar couples the container to a dispenser during dispensing. A coupling clip, has a lever portion pivotally coupled to the collar. The coupling clip also has a locking tab pivotally coupled to a lever portion so that depression of the lever portion causes the locking tab to move between a locking position and an unlocking position. The coupling clip is also provided with a bias mechanism, which is coupled to the coupling clip, and which biases the lever portion to hold the locking tab in the locking position.

    Abstract: The method of joining together the ends of ducts made of melt processible fluoropolymers such as Teflon PFA, which are characterized by a high degree of chemical inertness and a continuous service temperature in the range of 300.degree. to 500.degree. F. The joining of the ends together is accomplished by the use of infrared heat emanating from an infrared heat source with temperatures in the range of 1250.degree. to 2000.degree. F. and spaced from the ends of the duct by approximately 1/4" to 2 inches for a period of time approximately up to one minute which may be gauged by the appearance of the duct end as it becomes visibly molten to a depth of approximately 1/2". The infrared heater is then removed and the ducts are put together under almost no pressure and the ducts are held briefly, in one form, less than a minute, to quickly establish a joint that becomes at least as strong and expectedly stronger than the original ducts.
