  • Patent number: 11964098
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to aerosol delivery devices, methods of producing such devices, and elements of such devices. In some embodiments, the present disclosure provides devices configured for vaporization of an aerosol precursor composition that is contained in a reservoir and transported to a heating element by a liquid transport element. The liquid transport element may include a porous monolith.

  • Publication number: 20230237359
Abstract: Systems and techniques for active quantum memory (AQM) and quantum teleportation circuits with feedback are described. For instance, one or more aspects of the present disclosure may enable the indefinite storage of one or more qubits via a sequence of quantum teleportations involving the rapid periodic executions of a standard teleportation protocol with feedback (e.g., provided the total feedback cycle time is less than the decoherence time for a qubit). For each qubit stored, a pair of entangled qubits are injected on each feedback cycle and two qubits are measured. The stored quantum state may be passed repeatedly back-and-forth between two of the qubits, and the stored quantum state may be maintained by the input energy on each cycle required to initialize the entangled qubit pair (e.g., where the cycle period is chosen to be less than the decoherence time of the qubits to maintain state information over many cycles).

  • Patent number: 11663687
Abstract: Methods and systems for establishing and solving an optimization problem involving trade-offs in a container delivery system (e.g., trade-offs at least between prioritizing crane movement and prioritizing the wait time for trucks that have already arrived in a port) are described. According to some aspects of the described techniques, a cost function of the optimization problem reflects both of these concerns (e.g., a cost function is described that penalizes crane movement, rewards clearing of containers, etc.). Among other advantages, the methods and systems described may result in increased port operation efficiency, improved container flow, etc.

  • Patent number: 7658430
Abstract: A seat assembly for a motor vehicle having a floor and a structural pillar is provided, the seat assembly including a seat bottom frame attached to the floor and a seat back frame pivotally attached to the seat bottom frame. The seat back frame is capable of pivoting between a stowed position where the seat back frame is generally parallel to the seat bottom frame and an upright position where the seat back frame is generally perpendicular to the seat bottom frame. A striker mechanism is positioned on the seat back frame and is capable of assuming a normal position arranged to engage a latch located in the structural pillar of the vehicle when the seat assembly is in an upright position, and a refracted position where the striker mechanism is retracted towards the seat back frame as the seat assembly Is pivoted from the upright position to the stowed position.

  • Patent number: 7536831
Abstract: There is disclosed an apparatus having a base, a shaft, a swivel joint assembly and plural stories. The base is fixed relative to the ground. The shaft extends vertically through the apparatus. The shaft is mounted to the base. The swivel joint assembly is mounted in the base coaxially with the shaft. The swivel joint rotatably connects fixed utility lines extending into the base with corresponding utility lines secured within the apparatus. Each of the plural stories defines an enclosed living area and is rotatably supported, at least in part, via the shaft. Each story has a drive mechanism adapted to rotate the story about the shaft at a speed controllable within the story.

  • Patent number: 5423597
Abstract: Assembly components are provided for children to build and rebuild their own assemblies of school furniture. The assembly components include, as general categories, base components and interchangeable auxiliary components. The auxiliary components can be releasably coupled with the base components to build school-related assemblies including chair assemblies with adjustably high seating surfaces; a notice board assembly for supporting notices or a chalk board or the like; a stage assembly for theatrical productions; symbol display assemblies, as for displaying the alphabet in block letters; and desk assemblies with adjustably high desk tops. In some embodiments of the present invention, the furniture base is not just a unitary component but an assembly of modules. Accordingly, there are modules which can be releasably coupled together to build a modular assembly of a furniture base.
