Abstract: Embodiments described herein relate to methods and apparatuses for controlling an operation of a vibrational output system and/or an operation of an input sensor system, wherein the controller is for use in a device comprising the vibrational output system and the input sensor system. A controller comprises an input configured to receive an indication of activation or de-activation of an output of the vibrational output system; and an adjustment module configured to adjust the operation of the vibrational output system and/or the operation of the input sensor system based on the indication to reduce an interference expected to be caused by the output of the vibrational output system on the input sensory system.

Abstract: This invention relates to a device for use in straightening or relaxing overly-curly or wavy, unmanageable hair, using caustic compositions which can irritate the scalp or skin if brought into contact therewith. The device includes a planar base member or board, adjustable for head size and hair length, with means for covering with paper or similar material which overlaps the top edge of the board. The board covered with the paper is placed next to the scalp and the hair overlaps the board and paper at the top edge. The paper is cut off at a distance from the length of a lock of hair placed thereupon. The relaxing composition is then applied to the lock of hair and worked into the hair for suitable time, as determined by the operator. The board is then removed and the process repeated for another lock of hair.

Abstract: A device for use in bleaching or coloring hair in discrete portions comprised of a thin planar base member with a hand grip portion at first end, a generally U-shaped top member including a transverse span portion atop the base member, adjacent the hand grip portion, and a pair of generally parallel arms or thin planar material extending from the span portion along the base member, adjacent the respective side edges thereof, to points adjacent a second end of the base member. A moisture impervious flexible sheet of a suitable material, such as aluminum foil, is disposed between the base and U-shaped top members. A lock of hair is disposed over at least a portion of the central area of the foil, and a hair coloring or bleaching fluid is applied thereto. A pair of oppositely outwardly extending wing portions of the foil is folded over the lock of hair, after which the device is slidably removed from the foil, which remains in wrapped engagement about the lock of hair.
