  • Patent number: 9843176
Abstract: An installation fixture for installing a device on a power line is disclosed. The fixture includes a lower cradle that may receive one part of the device, an upper cradle that may receive another part of the device, and a base. The installation fixture may be installed on a worker carrier for a boom truck or the like. The orientation of the lower cradle may be adjusted relative to the base to facilitate the installation on the power line. The upper cradle may be moved between an open position (where the parts may be loaded into the fixture) and a closed position (where the power line is captured between the two parts of the device) and at which time that parts can be secured together.

  • Patent number: 8007708
Abstract: An automated removal and insertion machine for mold drawers operable with a molding machine is described. The machine includes a frame, a plurality of actuators mounted within the frame, a plurality of encoders, a plurality of electromagnetic effectors, and a controller. The actuators are operable in a substantially horizontal direction for removal and insertion of molds with respect to the molding machine, and movable within the frame in a substantially vertical direction. At least one of the encoders is operably attached to each of the actuators for providing data indicative of a position of the respective said actuators. At least one electromagnetic effector is attached to a terminal end of each of the actuators for engagement with a respective mold. The controller is operable to control movement of the actuators in the substantially horizontal direction and further operable for controlling power applied to the electromagnetic effectors.

  • Patent number: 7931320
Abstract: A method is provided for assembling a load bar assembly. The method includes providing a first linear stage having a first alignment mechanism that is configured to move the load bar assembly in a first direction. A second linear stage is provided that includes a second alignment mechanism that is configured to move the load bar in a second direction that is different from the first direction. The first alignment mechanism is positioned with respect to the second alignment mechanism such that the first alignment mechanism and the second alignment mechanism are prevented from being back-driven. The first alignment mechanism and the second alignment mechanism are configured to lock if one of the first alignment mechanism and the second alignment mechanism fails.

  • Patent number: 6244417
Abstract: A material handling unit includes a plurality of multidirectional helical roller assemblies positioned transverse across and longitudinally along a planar platform. Each of the multidirectional helical roller assemblies includes an outer ring member having an inner bearing race, and an inner ring member freely rotatable relative to the outer support member. The inner ring member has an outer bearing race that cooperates with the inner bearing race of the outer ring member. The inner ring member forms a central opening and a roller is rotatably mounted on the inner ring member and extends transverse across the central opening and is offset to a centerline defined by the central opening. The inner ring member supports the roller and is free to turn in the direction of applied force as pallets and cargo containers are fed along the platform.
