  • Patent number: 8540861
Abstract: A method for manufacturing gear wheels, specifically transmission gear wheels, is disclosed. An embodiment of the method includes the following steps: a) preparation of a base body for a gear wheel, b) electrochemical processing of the base body by a precise electrochemical machining process (PECM process), where several recesses running between the teeth of the gear wheel are made simultaneously electrochemically to manufacture the teeth of the gear wheel.

  • Publication number: 20120121348
Abstract: A boring tool for boring cylinder bores (6), with a tool holder (8) and a tool head (4) with a cutting edge carrier for at least one cutting edge (3) and with a rotary drive for driving the at least one cutting edge (3). The cutting edge carrier is provided with a first, preferably hydraulic, adjusting device for the adjustment of a variable cutting radius of the cutting edge (3), a ring module for first support rails (1), which concentrically surrounds the tool head (4), a second adjusting device for the variable radial adjustment of the supporting radius of the first support rails (1), and a third adjusting device for variable radial adjustment of a supporting radius of second support rails (2). The tool head (4) is axially moveable within the ring module. A method for boring cylinder bores (6) involving the use of the boring tool is disclosed as well.

  • Patent number: 7089662
Abstract: A method for surface treatment of the interiors of hollow bodies, especially cylinder bores, in preparation for the application of a thermally sprayed layer. The method comprises dry cutting without a lubricant or with a shortage of lubricant using a tool having a defined and/or undefined surface profile. In this method with a portion of the material forming the interior is removed and produces a surface that has a defined structure and/or quality. This eliminates the need for costly degreasing of the surface following machining.

  • Publication number: 20060171788
Abstract: Process and device for detecting a lubricant stream in a minimal amount cooling lubricant system (MMKS). Known processes conduct the measurement in the MMKS-supply channel relatively far from the actual working location. They require an incorporation of sensors in the rotating tool container, which is very complex and associated with high costs. These disadvantages are overcome in that the measurement at the lubricant outlet occurs in a separate measurement container, wherein the aerosol component is measured optically and the lubricant film component is measured gravimetrically.

  • Patent number: 6515254
Abstract: A method for surface working a tribological coating of a supereutectic aluminum-silicon alloy or an aluminum-silicon composite material with a coating structure includes machining the surface dry, without lubricant, in a one-step process, with a cutting tool having a cutting material containing diamond. The surface treating may be followed by a one-step finish honing or one-step texturing process.

  • Patent number: 6439764
Abstract: The thermographic examination of functional surfaces of forming tools in the forming process is important for the selection of an optimal tool material or an optimal coating material for a particular forming process and for a particular workpiece composition, and also for the optimization of process parameters of the forming process. The task of the present invention is comprised therein, to develop a device and a process, which enables the rapid and simple thermographic examination of functional surfaces of forming tools during the forming process. This task is solved by a process and a device, in which the sought after temperature distribution of the functional surfaces during the forming process are conducted, from point of origin, through a channel, in the direction of a temperature measuring device, via thermal radiation or, in certain cases, thermal conductivity.

  • Publication number: 20010023859
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for the surface working of a tribological coating of a supereutectic aluminum-silicon alloy or an aluminum-silicon composite material with a coating structure, wherein the surface is reworked after the production of the coating. Provision is made according to the invention that the surface is machined dry, without lubricant, in a one-step process, a cutting tool with a cutting material containing diamond being used. This can be followed by an additional working process. Preferably a combination process of dry machining and one-step finish honing or one-step texturing by radiation is provided.
