    Abstract: This interface system for use in facilitating the mounting of flat panels for electronic media junctures/connectors uses an interface element intermediate the flat panel for electronic connectors, which would typically be mounted directly to an ambient surface such as a wall (or to an electrical box in the wall), and such wall or electrical box. The key features of the interface element are (a) a flat panel interface surface by which a flat panel can be attached to the mounting interface element, (b) side walls that inset the interface surface into the wall (or electrical box) so that the junctures and other attachments and features on the flat panel are below the ambient wall surface, and (c) a peripheral flange for connection of the interface to the ambient surface and/or the exterior of the electrical box.
