  • Publication number: 20070088810
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for mapping a storage environment. An identification module identifies a first controller defined storage unit. A test module tests for a second controller defined storage unit corresponding to the first controller defined storage unit. In one embodiment, the second controller defined storage unit is a virtualized instance of the first controller defined storage unit. In an alternate embodiment, the first controller defined storage unit is a virtualized instance of the second controller defined storage unit. A flag module flags the first controller defined storage unit if there is a second controller defined storage unit corresponding to the first controller defined storage unit. In one embodiment, a monitor module monitors the status of each unflagged defined storage unit in the storage environment. In addition, a report module may report the status of each unflagged defined storage unit.

  • Publication number: 20050138174
Abstract: An example of a method for assigning a resource (for example, storage) includes receiving a request for a resource, wherein the request includes a list of paths. This example also includes retrieving a HardwareAccount, Controller, and an AccessAuthorization object for a first path in the list of paths. This example further includes making an attach device request to a CIMOM for a first available resource, using the Controller and the AccessAuthorization object. This example also includes determining if the first available resource was successfully attached, and if so, recording the assignment as successful, and if not, rolling back all assignments for the first available resource that were previously recorded as successful. • Publication number: 20050114438
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for provisioning storage resources according to a modeling policy. The modeling apparatus includes a monitoring module, a policy module, and a provisioning module. The monitoring module monitors the storage resources on the storage system. The policy module stores and maintains storage management, storage provisioning, and storage resource modeling policies. A user may access and specify these policies via a specification module. The provisioning module automatically provisions new storage resources, such as logical unit numbers (LUNs) according to the storage provisioning policies and modeling policies. The modeling policy defines a modeling strategy by which new storage resources are provisioned to include some or all of the attributes of a model storage resource.

  • Publication number: 20020188508
Abstract: The present invention, in accordance with various embodiments thereof, is directed to an on-line system and method for assembling, storing and administering all of a company's merchandising content in a single location and for optimizing the effectiveness of the content by determining the content and format most likely to be of interest to the consumer. Generally, a merchant sets up at least one campaign in the system, by generating various objects and/or resources comprising merchandising content. The merchant and/or its advertiser then establishes a set of rules which are applied to determine the objects and resources of the campaign to be distributed to a consumer, based on various circumstances and scenarios. When the consumer interacts with the system, the system determines dynamically the merchandising content to be sent to the consumer by processing data corresponding to the consumer, the consumer's computer system and environmental and geographical data.

  • Patent number: 4313336
Abstract: An anchor structure for exerting a pulling force against a vehicle structural member for straightening operations utilizes a lever arm including a bar member for positioning in an upright relationship and a base member affixed thereto. The bar member has an upper end portion, an intermediate portion and a bottom end portion and is of a rigid material to resist the bending forces applied thereto. The base member is affixed to the bottom end portion and extends laterally therefrom and permits the bar member to rock forwardly and rearwardly on a supportive surface. A lower attachment hook is secured to the lever arm generally at the bottom end portion for connection to a first anchor chain extending away from the lever arm in a direction opposite to a desired direction of pull and prevents movement of the base member outwardly of the first anchor chain.
