  • Patent number: 10399477
Abstract: A casket loading and/or unloading apparatus comprises a frame having an end adapted to be pivoted adjacent a rear edge of a bed of a transport vehicle for pivoting about a pivot axis generally transverse to a longitudinal axis of the transport vehicle, and a motion generating device operable between the frame and the transport vehicle for pivoting the frame from a first generally vertical position to a second at least generally horizontal position. A vertically oriented casket in the transport vehicle can be secured to the frame, and the frame with the casket secured thereto can be pivoted from the first generally vertical position to the second at least generally horizontal position to facilitate unloading the casket from the transport vehicle.

  • Patent number: 8521538
Abstract: A system and method of assisting a care provider in the documentation of self-performance and support information for a resident or person includes a speech dialog with a care provider that uses the generation of speech to play to the care provider and the capture of speech spoken by a care provider. The speech dialog provides assistance to the care provider in providing care for a person according to a care plan for the person. The care plan includes one or more activities requiring a level of performance by the person. For the activity, speech inquiries are provided to the care provider, through the speech dialog, regarding performance of the activity by the person and regarding care provider assistance in the performance of the activity by the person. Speech input is captured from the care provider that is responsive to the speech inquiries. A code is then determined from the speech input and the code indicates the self-performance of the person and support information for a care provider for the activity.

  • Patent number: 8374870
Abstract: A method for assessing a performance of a speech recognition system may include determining a grade, corresponding to either recognition of instances of a word or recognition of instances of various words among a set of words, wherein the grade indicates a level of the performance of the system and the grade is based on a recognition rate and at least one recognition factor. An apparatus for assessing a performance of a speech recognition system may include a processor that determines a grade, corresponding to either recognition of instances of a word or recognition of instances of various words among a set of words, wherein the grade indicates a level of the performance of the system and wherein the grade is based on a recognition rate and at least one recognition factor.

  • Patent number: 8255225
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses to assist a user in the performance of a plurality of tasks are provided. The method may comprise storing at least one care plan in a voice assistant, the care plan defining a plurality of tasks to be performed, capturing speech input from the user, determining, from the speech input, a selected interaction with a care plan, and in response to the selected interaction, providing a speech dialog with the user reflective of the care plan. Alternatively, the method may comprise capturing speech input from a user, determining from the speech input, a first weight associated with a resident, associating the first weight with a care plan in turn associated with the resident, comparing the first weight to a second weight associated with the resident and the care plan, and providing a speech dialog regarding reweighting the resident based on the comparison.

  • Patent number: 6792328
Abstract: A method and system in integrated circuit metrology for adapting a metrology system to work with diverse metrology devices. One embodiment is a method and system for generating signal adjustment data to adapt measured diffraction signals to enable use of a library of diffraction signals and structure profiles created for a different metrology device. Another embodiment is the creation and use of a data store of diffraction adjustment vectors and metrology device specifications relative to a reference device specification.

  • Patent number: 6768983
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and a system for a real-time configurable definition and generation of grating profile libraries. A parameter set is used to specify the ranges of grating dimensions and resolutions of the profile library to be generated. In one embodiment, a compiler creates subsets of a large profile library, the subset designed to enable rapid search and validation of real-time data. In another embodiment, an automatic process generates a new parameter set and a new subset of the library when trigger conditions are met. Subsets of the profile library may be used to check if grating spectrum data are within the ranges established for an application and if the dimensions are within the process averages established for a manufacturing run. The system for generation of grating profile libraries is scalable, operable in a distributed environment, and includes application specific items that can be selected or determined by the client.
